After staying all night up in my little table tennis world (read playing room) I did some heavy comparison for rubbers that I am going to carry here is first look at them as this is my opinion. Last night I glue & take off so many rubbers that I did not in 2 months period: Mendo, Innova, Sriver, Mark V, Cermet, Higher, Faster, Slice, Tackiness and many more (around 22 different rubbers).
Reactor "TORNADO"
Very, very close to Butterfly Sriver, maybe just a bit tackier but same in feeling and control. Sriver weight was 41g. on my scale and I believe that is accurate as Tornado weight was 43g. So it is a little heavier. Very fast and very good spin almost same in ratio (55:45 % speed over spin). Control in my opinion is more in 45% ration with spin. So overall speed 10, spin is 9 and control in 9. Sponge is 38* hardness as same as Sriver. My last word will be that "TORNADO" is very fast rubber. For all attacking/looping game this is a killing mashine. I find chopping to be hard for me with this rubber and blocking was very controllable.
Reactor "CKYLIN"
I think this is a rubber we have to brag about. I one word 'WOW'. Please keep in mind that I am not spin rely player (more control & placement) and that is why this rubber impress me. Fast as Tornado, weight 42g. Not tacky but grippy. I would put this same as Mark V 30* but harder as sponge is 36* density. Ratio between speed and spin is maybe 60:40% but control is at least 55% of speed. Still I think this rubber is attacking/looping machine as my chops where much better than with Tornado. Blocking was a dream and pushing is just great. I think spin still was there but comparing to Tornado it lacks at least 10-20%. Although I like this rubber (more close to my playing style) more than Tornado.
Reactor "NOVAR"
Now this is a rubber who rely on a lot of spins and not so much on speed. Speed is there but compare to Tornado and Ckylin it is a little slower than both. Not much but at least 10-20% slower. But let back to spin. This is I guess max crazy spin. Sheet is tacky but not tacky as some Chinese rubber (maybe same or a 5-10% more than Tornado in early review. Who rely on serves and a lot of rally's with side spins this is it. Rubber is on my scale was 43g. Sponge on this one is 42* hardness but if you treat that with speed glue it will probably go to 41* or even 40* as sponge will be softer. I guess this is more to typical chinese rubber but to me had a feel of euro rubber (Andro Revolution Fire although this rubber does not have a tacky sheet but it feels like it). I could not find close comparison to any other rubber but it did also feel like DHS H3. Please do not forget that I did speed glue every single rubber for my testing (I think I have one more year for this so I will think about speed glue ban in 10 months or so...)
Reactor "CORBOR PRO"
Now I would think this is more of allround rubber but with higer speed, spin and control than some other rubbers on market with same allround titles. CORBOR PRO is 41* hardness and it is 44g. in weight. Rubber was not tacky at all in my opinion but it is very grippy. Slower than all three in previous review (maybe same as Novar rubber in speed) but spin is same as all of them. Ratio on speed and spin (50:50%) with control same as (50%). That in my testing was very good contol rubber with plenty speed for suprise and great amount of spin for serves and long rally's. Pushing,blockin,lopping....you can do all with this rubber. For some reason I think this can be a very good rubber for one side C-pen & J-pen players but you can be judge of that. I will compare them with Butterfly Tackiness, Stiga Chop & Drive but with much more speed.
NOTE: If you ever played with any of this rubbers I would appreciate if you post your review here as it will help many other players to do comparison between rubbers. I hope my review will help you to try rubbers that I am going to import and be satisfied with quality and performance as I did. Sincerely Mel

I hope the weight of the Tornados will be consistently light. I had the special editon before in black with the blue sponge and it was mighty heavy.

I have used the Reactor Novar.
The topsheet is tacky but not as much tackiness as some chinese rubbers. The sponge from memory was blue or blue-purple in color and has a slight weave effect on the surface. I used this sheet 3-4 times speedglued on various carbon blades. Although the packaging gives a rating of '80' for speed gluing (whatever that means) the rubber did not seem to respond to the speed glue like chinese rubbers I was using at the time H2,H3,Geospin,729-2,729SST,CREAM. The glue effect was not pronounced at all (sound-spin-speed). This is the first rubber in a long line of rubbers I had tried that did not seem to perform with glue. Perhaps try it unglued and it might perform ok...... |
