OOAK forum.  I am trying to remember who tried it.  It will come to me.  He was gluing tacky topsheets onto Tenergy sponge, eventually gave up because he wasn't getting a consistent result.

Unfortunately IMO, there is no option. That's why they are charging us so much, as soon as a $10 option becomes available, Tenergy will half in price.

totally agree, except that when that happens, they'll come out with another version of tenergy that's supposedly even better and then charge even more then before!!
yes as always happens, but If you don't insist (not you personally) on having the latest gimmick your rubber price halves. What pisses me off more than anything is we would not have any of this if they had not banned Sp/glue, I could go back to using Dawie inspirit at £6.00 a sheet and change my rubbers regularly.

yes, and now i'm totally convinced that that was the real reason that VOC-containing glue was banned!!

it was in fact an attack on "china,"  but not the chinese players, as most people thought (like myself, foolishly), but the chinese rubber market share.

actually, most of us focus on the players, but when you think about it, the players are, in essence, market representations of tt companies.

so, if the chinese players only play with chinese products and they kick everybody's butts, then that poses a problem for the euro/jpn tt companies.

they gotta get the chinese to play with their stuff and say loud and clear that they do.  they've managed to get them to play with their equipment, or so they say, but when i see the chinese play, i see DHS logos, and other chinese adverts.  i don't see many images from NITTAKU or YASAKA, or first and foremost, BUTTERFLY, or STIGA or TIBHAR or DONIC.

that's the war in table tennis.  it's not a war between nations or even the players, per se, it's between the tt companies, basically the chinese companies vs. the european/japanese companies  and the ittf has been caught in the middle all this time, but they have sided with euro/japan.
yes I agree wholeheartedly, before the SP/glue ban, more and more UK players, myself included were switching to using Chinese rubbers, which glued up superbly and were a fraction of the cost of Euro/Jap kit, I've got an Idea that butterfly had developed Tenergy some time ago, but there was no market for it whilst SP/glue was being used, notwithstanding that, they were selling the Glue, and a rubber that is some way towards a sp/glue performance would be detremental to Sp/glue sales, and area where I believe they made a massive profit due to the huge mark up made with the introduction of 2nd generation Sp/glue in the 1990's. It all stinks.

I just ordered a sheet of Stiga Calibra LT which sounds promising.  Problem is I ordered it from Dandoy, so who knows when I will actually get to try it, but will let people know if it is an alternative.
