According to the "Classic Hardbat" Site, http://www.hardbat.com/index2.html
rubber is legal to use for "Hardbat Events" play. Am I right? Or is RITC 729 DR. EVIL different than RITC "DR. EVIL" Same stuff? Is it still legal for Hardbat Events? thanks alot |

that is the stuff. RITC makes the "729" brand of products.
so it is still legal for hardbat, but I did hear that they might be going back to a single, historical form of hardbat rubber soon. |

:)
I would use friction pips with sponge for chopping, but there are so few loopers around here that I rarely get to play "full chopper mode". The frictionless helps me baffle people close to the table, which I enjoy. |

Dr. Evil is the same and is avery popular legal rubber for hardbat. For sponge play is not too bad either because the rubber can do some spin reversal. I have used it on a Valor Shark blade for hardbat tournaments and it works for me. I don't think that harbat rubber will be standarized any time soon since Leyland rubber has not been made in over 20 years.

Yikes, I thought Winning NP-8 was added back on the list.

Winning NP8 was the main reason for the restriction on rubbers. Many of the top players used it and it is very spinny for a hardbat rubber. If it becomes legal again for hardbat play it would be a good choice for spinny play.

Oh, that's what happened. Well, I haven't try to enter any HB tournies, but I am enjoying it as BH on one of my present combo.

It may become legal again in the near future, so hold onto it.

Not likely that it will become legal again.
