So.. i have been using this fine rubber for 2months now, and i'm really impressed. i guess the idea of hybrid (chinese tacky topsheet/german sponge) rubber isn't that bad.
however, despite the good traits, this rubber is errr.... heavy... so i just like to ask you guys out there if you have some experience with 'light' hybrids.. hoping you could recommend.. thanks :)

729 aurora. I use it on my bh. Got 40 deg through a trade. Coming from Omegaiv pro, it feels a lil soft. 42 deg wpuld be perfect. Its tensor by name. Just perfect amount of bunciness. Light tack. Just enough for the film to stick to it. My friend likes this on my zxi more than his tenergy on primoarc.
Btw, where did you buy your lidu from? I came across one site selling for 40$. For that price i could just buy tenzone lmao. Edited by asifgunz - 04/10/2015 at 3:16pm |

Theres 40 and 42 deg availble from what i know. You would need at least a 42 for fh. Whats the hardness like on your lidu?

Well people are still on that big dipper bandwagon. Dont know how good it is. Lot of people also hold friendship battle 2 and battle 1 in veey high regard.

Since you're looking for a tacky Chinese topsheet you'll want Big Dipper or Battle II as they are both tacky. Battle I and Aurora on other hand, are just grippy and elastic. They will not pick up a ball at all.
That said, Aurora is indeed a great grippy rubber, IMHO. Another hybrid to have a look at may be Tuttle Spring 3B. It's very tacky in black. But if I were you, I'd go for 729 Battle II. It's a good match for your requirements and a great hybrid. Edited by TenNine - 04/11/2015 at 3:58pm |

Could you tell us a little bit more why you have been so impressed with this rubber? Could you compare to other well know Chinese rubber like H3 Neo? Thanks! Edited by Matt Pimple - 04/12/2015 at 12:56am |

to simplify..i could do a sort of 'euro' spin stroke cause of its sponge and very impressive short-game style because of its tackiness.. i have used h3 commercial in the past and although its great for short game, my arm and age wont allow me to swing the Chinese spin stroke..
weight is only the issue here, lidu gold (black) is really heavy...

Best advice i can give you at this point, considering the rubbers we have recommended don't suit you, is that you leave space above the handle when cutting your rubbers. Like cpen users do. Im a Sh player and even i do that to cut weight. You sound like youve found your rubber and by being able to cut about 7-8 grams or more on each side. You will definately feel a difference.
Tbh i think its pricey for a chinese rubber. Esn rubbers cost less xp. |

Also, is it heavy in general or head heavy? You can also use lead tape on the bottom of the handle. Golf lead tape > bty tape . It will give more of a uniform weight. Make it feel lighter overall even thought its not lighter, just more evenly distributed weight.
Ano option is using a lighter bh rubber. I wouldnt do it personally but you might be able to. |
