i prefer to cut the rubber than the blade :) ...i am sure i miss something. Let's see...
Did you mean "stick" instead "fit"?
It is true that with too much sealant the rubber won't stick as well and yes, it's ok to sand a little bit the sealed blade so it's not as polished.
Just use a very fine grit, like 600.

should be the other way round..cutting rbrs to suit/fit blade's headsize. Bty JSH is too dear to be sanded dwn and the process IS irreversible.
If u had an OS Stiga blade or any OS cheapy blade which was heavily abused n dinked @ the edges then it would be fine and acceptable IMO.

it really depends if you are okay playing w/ a smaller head. It will shift the balance of the blade, so keep that in mind. Other than that, TZ is experience in cutting/sanding blades down. I am sure he can help you

Ok, for the people saying to cut the rubbers, just a heads up on what you are saying. The rubber is too small for the blade so lets cut em to make them fit. He obviously has used rubbers. Realy I have no idea if you should sand the blade

Please stop smoking crack! Please don't do that. Just get ahold of another rubber and cut it to fit your blade head.

I don't have a problem playing with rubbers that are a bit too small for a blade. People might look, but who cares? Just use some edge tape to protect the blade a bit. You'll get new rubbers in a couple of months anyways.

My friend had smaller rubbers and he painted the blade to make it look like it covered the whole surface

1 golden rule for me:
Rubbers are consumables, most dun last long if u play few times a week, they get worn out, abused, nicked, "hit by table" n blah blah blah so on so forth...but blades if taken care of properly last a lifetime..they all can outlive u and I...

just be aware that once you sand your blade down too much, the symmetrical balance of the blade itself may become offset

Yeah if you sand the blade down then the characteristics will change... you might not like the feel afterwards. Plus, you said that the blades been 3 times sealed, I think it harder to cut down the head size. Your better putting that rubber on a blade that actually fits

Good advice. Leave the blade as it is. Reducing the size will disrupt the balance, and you will regret it later when you find that the blade is no longer nice to be used. |

Looking at the specifications of your blade, it's big blade face of 165 x 152; is well designed for defensive play.
It's not a good idea to sand down the bigger blade face of a defensive blade, as it's an integral part of any good defensive blade. My advice : Leave the blade as it is and get a new pips rubber instead. Reducing blade size is something best left to allround/offensive players who already use a blade with a compact head and are likely to reduce their new blades to the same blade size for convenience. |

Too pity to sand the blade head size to fit smaller rubber . You better buy new rubber, cut it with the same head size.
