The difference is with the pimbles layout but it doesn't matter now. Without speed glue, they are dead rubbers. |

Stick to reg Sriver... EL and FX are meant for re-gluing.

The difference between Sriver L and Sriver S, is the topsheet pip structure is 90% different between them.
Sriver L has the normal vertical pip structure for the topsheet, whereas Sriver S has a horizontal pip structure. Sriver L is meant for loopers and Sriver S is more for flat hitters. |

L is more for spin and S is more for speed, old timey players used S on the bh for blocking and hits.

So if I see someone selling "S" means that their Sriver are very old? I think Butterfly stopped producing Sriver S.

I don't know if butterfly is still producing S, I haven't seen it in the US for years, but it is still available in Europe.

From the packaging I received, I am using L version."Sriver L is meant for loopers and Sriver S is more for flat hitters." I wish I had the S version.

Sriver S is still in production, but less of a popular choice than Sriver L. I remember playing with Sriver S 30 years ago on an old Barna Original and liked it.
My experience of Sriver S was it was good at loop drives and forehand smashes. It wasn't as good as Sriver L for big forehand loops., but was definitely the better choice for smashing. |

I don't notice much of a difference between the Sriver S and Sriver L. I do notice a difference between the regular Sriver and the Sriver FX. If there's a diference between the S and the L, it's too subtle for me. |

I have a Sriver S w/ Kawatsuki sponge here... excellent for smashing if you ask me, also nice for blocking; loops aren't too spinny
