I have noticed oversized paddles are being used by many pros and my coach is using a Oversized Stiga Clipper which is discontinued. Couple of questions.
1. I have tried 3 Clippers and really like the speed/crispiness of the Clipper CC and large sweet spot of my coaches Oversized Regular Clipper. I wondered can you order a special order from Stiga for a oversized Stiga clipper cc? If not, can you recommend something thats is close to what i am looking for. 2. Oversized blades are still popular in Europe and Asia...why does the general U.S. TT community does not have a liking for this type of blade? Weight or just dont like how it looks in hand (too big)..... Your opinions and replies are appreciated. Thanks Corrected Schen...typo

Shao Yu doesn't have an oversized CC, just the regular Clipper Oversize WRB (I dont think theres other versions than that).
I love oversized blades too, and I actually have a couple Clipper Oversizes on order directly from Stiga in China to try out. They apparently make oversize Clipper in penhold too!

Schen, please make a review of your oversized clipper when it comes in. I have tried the Regular Clipper CR and does not feel crispy and not stiff enough for my tastes. The Clipper CC is almost perfect. My EJ issue is that the Clipper CC lacks the large sweetspot of oversized blades. If your oversized clipper has that crispiness and comes close to Shaos Blade, i definitely will try to make a order from China. Maybe a layer of sealent will make it more crispy and harder. Thanks and talk to you soon

Will do!
And I am still torn about shakehand... I played a tournament yesterday and the first two lower events I played very badly with shakehand, then I switched to penhold for the last and highest event and nearly won it... Maybe the crooked finger is worth it...

It will take a while and some training before you get the techniques down. You are a 1900-2000ish player with penhold. So getting to 2000 with shakehand will take some time. You cant climb the mountain in one day....one step at a time. Hey, like you recommended Shao to me...make sure to get some coaching....multiball sucks but helps...lol Good Luck on your endeavors...Shakehand and Penhold.

Are they popular in Asia? Where? I didn't see any in Korea in 6 years there. Only a couple of defenders.
I think they're awful if you're playing with max or 2.0 thickness rubbers because of weight. Also, over the table they're awkward. Banana flips are very difficult with oversized blades. Forehand flips are also more difficult.

Is YEO classified as an over-sized?
I notice it a bit longer than the rest of CPEN. What is the measurement for an over-size? |

Haha yeah, I'm dying for some multiball, but the coaching out here is just too expensive compared to what I had with Shao Yu. I'll keep playing it on the side.
I think they are more popular with players who use pips rubbers, which are typically lighter than inverted and would actually balance out an oversized head nicely where a regular sized paddle would feel too light.
YEO is not oversized, although it is a little longer than most blades (just barely). There's no real definition for what "oversized" is though other than just larger than your typical blade size. I'd hold the Joo Sae Hyuk blade to be a standard oversized blade size, but even then there are larger oversized blades offered by Donic, Yasaka, and Stiga.

I always heard the best clipper was an oversized clipper filed down.

could be because the oversized clipper is allegedly the same thickness as the old generation of 6mm clippers.
