    Posted: 04/29/2015 at 5:32am
I have been playing table tennis as an active interest since 15-16 years and my playing style is given below:

FH: very good spinny serves, consistent topspin, like flicks too -  attacking style

BH: control with chops, solid blocks, occasional loops -  controlling game

I have been using Mark V rubbers on both hands with primorac off- blade. Happy with the forehand but backhand chops seem to have low backspin and easily hittable by opponents. Can do with easier blocking too.

I want to try a new rubber with good control for my backhand, which will be easy to chop and block with and hopefully wont make occasional topspins difficult. Receiving serves should be easy. I dont need too much power on backhand. Something to compliment my game and the mark v on FH.

Can you please suggest me something? I found the tenergys too fast to my liking. Sriver EL is an option but it seems to have the same issues as mark v.

Thanks,
Roy

Hi Roy!

It sounds like you want something a bit more modern, with more available grip without going mad on the speed side of things.  You have LOADS of options, but I'd recommend a modern allround rubber like Xiom Musa or Adidas R-Classic.  They are slightly faster but have more modern, grippy, elastic topsheets.  Safe options, and not too expensive, but a bit heavier than Mark V (most modern rubbers are).

Victas have some well-regarded rubbers in their range for a modern chopper too, but I haven't used them myself.  It might be worth having a look at VS>401 and VS>402.
This was a great signature until I realised it was overrated.
