hey guys,
So what do you think about the two rubbers t05 and t64 for the backhand? Which would you prefer and why?

They are very similar on the backhand. I prefer the softer feel of T64. T64 is more bouncy/faster for medium speed pushing/driving. It is also a little lighter.

we have the exact opposite of LGLF, i prefer T05 because its slightly harder and T64 is a tad bouncier for my taste on short game, its a personal preference

So do you reckon that t64 on wood blade and t05 on carbon (alc, etc) is what you'll prefer? I have tried t64 as you can see in my signature on the tbs, but is strongly considering t05 but can't make a decision yet.

Do you mean it has more feel/ you can control the ball better for your loops?? Or do you mean that it produces better quality loops?

T05 = more spin and yes better quality loops, is your rating is US 1800 and up you can do amazing things with T05, it specially goes well with Photino.

I think unless you're a really advanced player that t64 is better for most players. It's easier to control and one thing that i really like is that you can keep your loops bouncing quite low, rather the high which 05 likes to do

I tend to agree with this. The T05 makes a pretty big arc, difficult to control for the vast majority of players.

Yea i agree too. T05 has higher throw and harder sponge than t64. Not much looping with bh other than opening loop. After that comes the bh to bh rallies which t64 does better in..

I prefer T05 over T64, it's harder, more spinny and more control than T64....

i actually like it on the bh too....only for my tbs though. it has that good soft click feeling. but when i want a crisp feel of contact, then t64 is my best friend.

Yes, I prefer T05 on backhand, I don't like it on forehand. Forehand H3 is the best for me. Actually my backhand is better than my forehand, I can open loop much easier with T05 than Roxon 500 pro, while T64 is not hard enough and too bouncy, If it's not as bouncy and harder probably will be the better than T05... Well if you play with a player so much better than you, then using T05 will make you looks can't play table tennis If you play against the same level or lower level, then using T05 really makes you play better |

To be honest, you don't need a high throw rubber for your backhand. Get a medium hard rubber like Hexer HD so you can attack, block and control more with you backhand.

I've tried Hexer HD on backhand, it's not a backhand rubber, more a forehand rubber...

yeah my backhand is quite a bit better then my forehand and i use 05 fx or 64 on my forehand and now 05 on bh and i love it! galden.zheng, how good is your backhand? when i started, i used h3 untuned so i could get my stroke perfected and then i moved to mark v and then tenergy. if your stroke is good, use 05

Hi Glanden, how high are you in the Aussie jnr system? Im sure you will have a few friends with 05 that you can try on your backhand.

I think I drive and occasionally punches with my backhand.... I only loop on an opening loop of backspin, I hit not too much spin otherwise in topspin to topspin rallies...

Hey
I was wondering about same question : what about T05 in the backhand instead of T64 ? Sometimes I feel difficult to control the first topspin with the T64. Would I have more control with T05 ? I don't like fx sponge very much, I had hated T05fx so I'm not interested with T64fx. I can topspin well with the backhand, but I'm not easy far from the table in the backhand. So generally I begin with a spinny backhand topspin, and take the forehand to finish. If I can't finish after the first backhand topspin I make a second or a third backhand topspin to push away the opponent, so I take the forehand. I often block passively with the backhand, I try to block more active but it's not so easy. What do you think will suit better to me, T05 or T64 ?

Yeah . I am going to use T64fx 2.0mm bh and T05 1.9mm fh on a TBS blade .
In the hope that my opening loops with bh will be more agressive and controlled with pinpoint placement . Between you and me T05 on fh is a leathal weapon. First I could hardly breathe when I saw the incredibly spinny curve of the ball . But I was just wondering how the T64fx would work on bh. Any suggestions about that please? I mean it is advisable to use a soft T64fx on bh , isnt it? |
