The newgy 1040 might be a good option for you then, it has a number of spins and oscillates is going for $200 right now at newgy.com  It doesn't have a recycling net but the version with the net is pretty expensive.

I built myself returning boards and I can perform any top spin drill you can think of with them. But if you want to practice looping backspin you will need a robot. I just received the A32w Pro robot from paddle palace. I haven't unpacked it yet, but from what you describe you need, you should consider it, as competition for the Newgy 2050 and 2040, and the TableTennis master gen 5 robots. These are your 3 alternatives.

Ask Imago. He has a very cool Chinese robot, which you may program to give and mix top spin with backspin and no spin balls. You can't do nothing of it with mine 2050 (which has drills though) The one of Imago is twice as cheaper

have you ever considered the iPong?

One of the drawbacks of the Newgy Robo-pongs are that they require at least 8-10 balls in the machine to constantly and consistently push the ball upwards towards the feeder, but I like the iPong because its simple, you can place it on the table and the height at which the ball is shot is just right!

I have the Newgy 2040 and, say for a short flip drill, where you want the ball to have just enough power to double bounce without having an immense amount of spin, its just not possible with that model.

And if you wanted a good strength looping side to side drill, on the 2040, since its placed at the very end of the table, you have to set it to power 5-8 to get a decent distance, and at that point, you're just blocking or smashing (because there's way too much top spin on the ball to effectively drill)

You can always buy recycling net as extra. Ipong is the same as Joola TT Buddy, last one I used for 3 months (borrowed from a friend) and it was ok for practising basic strokes.

If you want a real good robot, this is the one. I have for got what are the differences between V-989, 989F, 989G and etc

http://qwertycommerce.com/product_info.php?products_id=689

But basically the robot can be program for sending the ball to different placement, different spin for each ball. You can program a unique drill using those up to 20 ball per drill. I know one taiwan website does sell this one (www.ping-pong.com.tw), but too bad they don't have the english version page
