Most Europeans i know are 28 or bigger, and at least for tt japan, their asics all cap out at 28. Its not a local store thing as their mizunos etc go all the way up to 30cm etc

Not complaining at all, wave medals have been great for me, but strange they only seem to special order normal sizes

The fact is Victas and Asics are comercial partners in Japan. All Victas sponsored players use Asics shoes. It's not impossible to them get the size they need to use.

he uses the same blade model since 2017, Gatien Absolum.

just changing handles from Absolum to Foco OFF+ now to Xiom custom handle.

AFIK, they are working together to launch a new Xiom blade under his name/requirements but it was not an urgent issue because Xiom is promoting the Ice Cream blade first.

In my opinion, Hugo will not change his blade untill Tokio 2020 and he is right.

Samsonov tests lots of blades. Probably provides feedback to Tibhar R&D for blade development.

In this video however, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbmpvCpkb48 at about 6:14 he got caught putting back in his bag a BTY TB ALC, maybe comparing it for testing, maybe there is an upcoming koto/alc clone coming since last one (drinkhall powerspin carbon) didnt succeed, or maybe Timo just lend him one as a gift. Who knows... interesting nonetheless.

Look carefully, this is a VS Unlimited, not a TB ALC.

You are right, i had to slow down to 0.25 in youtube and had to replay it few times... the handle looks almost like TB ALC but the logo gave it away.

In this interesting video, Vladi himself is talking about his Tibhar blade and rubbers:

The way he does curve the ball and vary the spin can only come from a SP rubber and not from a LP one.
Spectol is very spinny so this should still be the case but 1,8mm sponge is quite impressive.
Also, I Wonder what kind of sponge he uses.
He has got such a nice touch and control. he might play defence with a rocket I think.

Zoom in on the above photo and you can make out the word Spectol. Like some other players he cuts off the bottom part below the ITTF marking.
