If I am understanding this correctly, the key is a small upward flick of the bat (from the wrist and fingers) at the time of impact. Thus, you are topspinning the ball more than simply stiking it.
Is this the idea? It is not easy for me to understand the coach's point otherwise.

A kind of flick, but not same with normal flick.
The key is using for fingers to make better spins.

It is not a small flick; go back to watch the video, her good one (and yours too) shows no flick movement. It is a sudden break (??). She just exaggerated the finger movement to make you understand it. To be fair, I have no idea why she asked you to do that. It will mess up your timing. Anyway, that is what my coach told me=> ~90% on the arm, ~10% on wrist, ~2% on finger.
