All good until you realise most non pro sponsored Butterfly players are only on about %15 discount. It still doesn't bring you into line with other manufacturers prices

The lowest level sponsored players still get more than enough free to last them a year. And the cycle repeats every year.

what I find interesting is that none of the guys in this list are using the equipment so eagerly recommended in this forum by players with unknown ratings which supposedly makes them better players and improves their efficiency.
like allround blades, mark v rubbers.....
I see instead primorac carbon, timo boll spirit, tenergy 05.....

Confused

Anyone else find it amusing that these guys play with the same setups that are most common amongst US1000-1400 players?

Either everybody and his mother are Timo fanboys or something else is at play here.

lol, indeed, i do find it amusing

I think I've decided I'll start playing with Butterfly equipment once they start sponsoring me... (and rest assured, I won't be looking for that to happen)

Did you miss the point entirely? US2500 level players are pretty good, not developing players. These guys have put in loads of training and coaching time and are not owned by their equipment as many of us recrational-grade players are.

To put it in perspective:

The difference in skill and training between a US2500 player and a US1400 player is bigger than the difference between an NBA professional and a standout 8th grade basketball player.

So of course I wouldn't expect to see US2500 players using Primoracs, Mark V's and Sriver... But by the same token, I think the number of US1000-1400 players using the same gear that that top 50 US men use is pretty silly.

How about posting some videos of you playing with the P500, anyhow?

It depends on the company. Some just offer small discounts on equipment.

Not for Butterfly, which the original poster mentioned. Not sure about other brands.
