whats wrong with the german school? They all play like f#kim Pavel Platonov. Nobody opens the elbow and swing from shoulder. Do they teach them to play like that on purpose or just don't have good coaches.

Thanks for the videos.......

I used to be a fan of Mattenet but can no longer put up with his approach to the game. This is 2012 and not 1990, enough with the away from the table stuff, put the damn ball away early and finish the point. Geeez
who no know go know

Back at the WTTC in 2005, Maze fell back to lobbing as a last resort, literally.  Mattenet pursues that approach regardless of the circumstances.  He takes the initiative to set up the lobbing sequence and actively engages in it the moment the rally starts.  No wonder Gatien said the young guns of France were not trying hard enough.

I think Ovtcharov just realized that he had nothing to lose and played like it.  Given that the person who got in the first attack was winning points like candy, that should have been the priority of both players.
I like putting heavy topspin on the ball...

Dima was playing average against Chuang and Timo but suddenly got a surge of energy and won 4 straight games vs Timo. What a young man!
