I think Shin got nervous and now it's 3-3! Curious to see how she'll respond.

I stopped watching at 3-0 Shin.  Surprised to see it still live on YT and it was 3-2, now 3-3.  What did YXX change to turn it?

Shindong has probably been lifting weights during her rehabilitation. She is slower now.

SYB 3-0 -> 4-3 YXX

2 titles for Shindong after recovering for much of 2022.

Yes!!! Shin Yubin wins over a *very* tough YXX.  YXX came back like a cornered animal so credit her for a good fight.  But so happy for SYB after coming back from injury.  Only 18 years old and has a WTT Contender under belt to add to her Asian Champs Runner Up.

Jorgic vs Sinozuka
63, 68, 98, 99, 910, 1010, 1011, 1111, 1113. Jorgic missed a few crucial sitters.
05, 25, 27, 47, 48, 58, 510, 710, 711. Jorgic still has trouble playing lefties.
53, 54, 64, 65, 95, 96, 116. Shinozuka forced his FH shots.
50, 52, 62, 63, 73, 74, 84(Shinozuka served off the table), 104, 105, 115. Didn't adjust in time.
04, 24, 25, 35, 37, 47, 57, 67 TO for Shinozuka, 77, 87, 89, 119. Shinozuka failed big time again.
41, 43, 73, 76 TO for Jorgic, 96, 98(Jorgic self-destructed), 910, 1010, 1012.
Shinozuka should've played more speedy exchanges like that point at 1:4 in G6. Jorgic got used to his variations after G2.
03, 13, 14, 24, 25(edge for Shnozuka), 26, 36, 39, 69, 611.

I know she was injured, but they need to make an exception.  She's their best player.  She's listed as a player for 2022-2023 T.League's Kyushu Asteeda so I hope to see her play there.  We'll see her again soon at the Asian Cup in Bangkok.

This young man has all the tools.  Just needs to refine them, add some strength, add experience, and not even the sky's the limit.  Japan's got another jewel.  So excited for his future.

This event shows how naive the KNT and JNT national team selection systems are.

He won't have much time to rest.  The next Paris 2024 Selection Tournament is this Saturday.  He's in 3rd place at the moment.  Hopefully he can remain in a top 3 position.

Shinozuka should be ranked in the top 30 which would make him eligible for WTT Champions events in the future.

Quite shinsational! They're also double winners. SYB won mixed doubles with LJH, and Shinozuka won men's doubles with Togami.

Shin Yubin moves up to WR#19.  Hiroto Shinozuke moves up to WR#29.  For reference, Uda is WR#26 so Shinozuka is within striking distance of the 2nd highest ranked Japanese male.  Oikawa breaks into the top 100 at WR#72.

Is it just me or Uda and Shinozuka have really similar playstyles and build too... Uda seems to have a stronger FH and pivot, Shinozuka has a stronger BH...

Notable differences from Uda, who relies much more on form, are that Shinopi:
is more stable due to a better FH-BH balance;
is stronger at rallies despite his height;
has more options at different distances;
has higher 週旋能力 - the closest English term I can think of is "finesse", the ability to cope with a difficult situation and turn it around at the earliest opportunity, which I view as the rare quality to correct the match flow and choose the best of action. An edge shot in the SF against Oikawa and a service error in the F against Jorgic, both in G6, were all he needed to turn the tables.
Viscaria FL - 91g
+ Neo H3 2.15 Blk - 44.5g(55.3g uncut bare)
+ Hexer HD 2.1 Red - 49.3g(68.5g 〃 〃)
= 184.8g
