WITH PAIN!!! not seriously, I grabbed a screwdriver and went to town on it...hence the cuts and the burn from the hot glue.

I find it has the exact same vibrations before it gets to the un-WRB'ed part....ie, with a standard shakehand grip, you'll still feel the vibrations in your fingers (contact point), but the vibrations in you palm is GREATLY REDUCED! this is just excellent. ^_^

You just pried the logo off with a screwdriver???  Didn't it break, or get scratched or something?

I like the idea of the vibrations being greatly reduced in the palm.  I have an 81g K-6 that I may try this with.  How much glue did you have to use?  The K-6 seems to have a pretty big hollow spot, and I don't want to increase the weight by more than 5 grams.
i put expanding foam in my defplay senso handle, good dampening of vibrations+barely any heavier, but careful not to overdo it.a little at a time as it takes ashort time to expand but continues for a while once it starts

Some people have filled the handle with insulation foam that comes in the spray can. It has that plastic straw that's nice and thin. Easy to insert. It works well to stop the rattle from the trasformer blades. If weight was an issue you could put something in there and then foam around it.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

The expanding foam idea sounds interesting.  I'm not as interested in shifting the CG as I am in deadening the vibration.  But I'm still a bit worried about screwing up the handle or the plastic logo getting the logo off.

OK, I figured out a minimally destructive way to get the logo off.  Get the smallest jeweler's screwdriver you can find.  I have one that has a blade that is very thin and only about 1.5 mm wide.  As mentioned by someone earlier, the plastic logos seem to sit on little ledges supporting the ends of the logo.  There doesn't seem to be a ledge in the middle.  Just carefully insert the tip of the jeweler's screwdriver in between the edge of the middle of the logo and the wood of the handle surrounding it and gently push in and pry up.  Pops right out.  Or at least the one on my old Stiga premade wrb did (didn't want to try this experiment on my $50 K-6 until I confirmed it worked well). Causes a very small blemish to the handle, but nothing you would even feel once you pop the logo back in.

For minimizing the vibration without increasing the weight or damaging the handle from the foam expansion, couldn't fitting it with cottonballs or something similar work? Actually I think I will try that and see how it changes the blade... :)

the cotton balls may become dislodged when you play, expanding foam is sticky(carefull not to get on hands)and won`t dislodge,it won`t damage the handle if you overdo it with the foam it just keeps coming out of the end of the handleEmbarrassed, you can sand it nice and flat when it settles

Firetack, you did this with a Donic blade that has an open end.  With my blade, I will have to "cap" back up the handle with the logo, which would mean having to sand it round and lower than the rest of the handle if I get to much in it.

Hmmm.... nothing seems perfect yet.

Well, I did it to my K-6.  Prying off the logo was a little bit harder than it was with my Stiga premade, so the blemish is a bit bigger.  The logo didn't go back in perfectly flat either, so there is a little bit of a ridge around one end of the logo where the plastic logo is a little bit lower than the wood.  But it's nothing that bad, and I took the plastic logo of the backhand side of, so the forehand side of the handle where your fingers go is still nice and smooth.

I used Dow "Great Stuff" for gaps and cracks.

It does continue to expand after you put it in, so you need to be careful how much you put in.  I actually overdid it just a bit, so it kept expanding up through the spot where I pried the logo off, but it wasn't that big a deal.

The foam only added about 1.5 grams to the weight of the blade.  It went from 81.1 to 82.6 grams.  I think this is considerably less additional weight than using hot glue would have added.  I weighed the 2" hot glue sticks and they are 2.2 grams each.  I think it would have taken at least two and maybe three of them to fill in the K-6's hollow spot.

The test will come tomorrow when I play again and see if the foam cuts down on the vibrations of the K-6.  I'll post again after I play with the results.

Well, I would say the experiment was a success as far as reducing vibrations goes.  The K-6 feels much more solid now, with greatly reduced vibrations.

However, the logo not being in completely even and flat bothered me a bit more than I expected, even with it being on the palm side of the handle.  I may try to take it back out and see if I can get it back in straight and flat.

Overall, definitely worth doing if you want to reduce vibrations and get a more solid feel to your wrb blade!

good to hear it worked for you, regarding the plastic logo you could turn your blade  and rubbers round if resticking plastic logo fails,or add grip which will reduce vibrations even more

Adding a grip to a blade with a thin handle, is also a way of making the handle more comfortable to hold.

Thks guy ! I've also "un-WRB" a Clipper Cr WRB. Orig weight was 82g. Took of the plastic logo, fill it in with expanding foam. Did the same mistake as brainstorm, put too much...Not big deal, just take off the extra-foam during the expansion. Aim wasn't really the reduce vibes, because vibes weren't really noticable but preferably to make balance better. It was too head heavy to my taste. So during the foam drying process, I was balancing the blade from the center in order to bring it to 4cm to the handle (that's my best comfort). The foam was too light to do the job so I added one metal mini-disc (2g) in the foam. Once dried, it doesn't move. Re-sticked the plastic logo, sanded the handle, put a grip and....was exactly 4cm balanced ! Blade's weight went to 86g but it feels lighter in my hand due to the better balance. Vibes (which were almost unnoticeable) had totally vanished. Sticked two new sheets on it and went to play. Hmmmmm, juicy ! Fantastic blade. Altogether, this process made me change my mind about WRB. It is finally very usefull for players, such as me, who know exactly where is there best balance distance from the handle and can therefore "customize" their blades accordingly.
