Why do a few BTY blades have numbers etched on the face of the blade? Is this a lot# or perhaps a grading system within each model?

It's in order to ''name'' each specific blade.

Butterfly names each blade by printing on each of them a unique serial number, in order to know when it was made, where, etc.

Thanks for the info but very few BTY blades have the code on them, just it seems a select few.
