Unreknown Cheap Blades

That's why I said: "Of course there is no guarantee you'll find this in all the expensive blades either". I've found the same problem with Stiga Energy Wood that I used for many years. I'm sure Stiga is not the only one either.

I my experience the Japanese-made blades have the highest quality control and consistency... but I certainly understand that not everyone is willing to pay for that.

I tried that 1-ply pine as well. Mine had huge vibrations that continued well after I hit the ball.... I've never had a blade that came close to that level of vibration. Can't remember what rubbers I used.

There are other players who also bought this 1-ply pine blades, as I won some bids but also lost some bids to other higher bidders.

samsonov alpha is extremely popular in the french table tennis halls. It's because it is not extremely new that there is no hype about it. Same for all great unexpensive classics:

In the Speed Glue + 38mm Erait was very rare to see other blades than these in table tennis halls. Still now they are more than good enough but some people prefer more speed and power. But that does need to be more expensive. YEO, JRE, Epox Offensive and Topspeed, Boll Forte, offensive classic, PG7...if you want even faster you can go for the Yinhe T-series.
