It is released more than 3 months after it was expected to get here...
Any one up for a review??? Post pics and comments please. --- Below was posted a while back. Now it is at 3 weeks after tentative release and still no Bad ass little brother. Kinda bummed that it is not available for purchase. What is the deal? --- Ok, I don't know about anyone else, but I am really excited about this rubber coming out. July 10th the word was six weeks. That puts the release somewhere early September I am guessing.I have been using Gambler Outlaw and like it but wish for something a bit softer which apparently Six Shooter Pre-tune is. I have to say that I was not impressed with the original Six Shooter hugely. I mean it was OK and since I never glued it, it really never worked for me personally. Outlaw has been great for my gme but it IS a bit fast and dwell is pretty short. If anyone hears new regarding the release of Gabler Six Shooter Pre-tune, please announce! I am sure the first time we will see it will be when it goes on sale at zeropong.com... but just in case someone has the inside scoop, please let us know. Here is the packaging:http://www.zeropong.com/sixshooterPre_Tune.html Any one up for a review??? I hope they use a different top sheet. The original one oxidized so bad.

Tom told me the QC would be the same as outlaw. Basically, a slightly more controlled version of outlaw.

Cole, do you know if the 4-kings pro, 6-shooter pro, and aces pro use the same sponge with different top sheets?

I am really enjoying Outlaw, but I wanted to try a softer version of it.
Then along comes mention of by Tom of Zeropong -- SS Pre-tuned... I am wondering why not call it Outlaw SV? or Outlaw Soft. or Outlaw: Unforgiven Or is Outlaw just SixShooter hard version pre-tuned. I guess I am a bit confused by the names and versions. Usually when you say, "I want the soft version of that rubber" it means ( I think) you just want the same topsheet, with similar properties with just a bit more dwell and control (on loops and power shots) from the softer sponge. Maybe this was the closest offering to what I was wanting and it was named SS Pre-tuned prior to the release of Outlaw and its subsequent popularity among forum members/players |

Looking forward to this rubber. Only thing stopping me from getting the Outlaw was it's hardness. Hopefully the new six shooter turns out to be a softer version of it. Also, let's hope the durability of it is better than the Outlaw.

I don't specifically know the hardness, but I do know it's projected to be slightly more control oriented than outlaw. Tom called it outlaw's "badass little brother."

And if I know Tom, whatever gluing issues they may have had will be addressed. Both in outlaw and six shooter.

Still no release. Kinda bummed that it is not available for purchase. What is the deal? I just spent $60+ on Mark V cause I got tired of waiting, the Outlaw I peeled off was still good after 60+ hours of play.

I hated Outlaw 2.0 on FH, but loved it on BH. Once I tried it in 2.2 on FH, same day I achieved the same landing percentages as my favored mid soft 999 (42 deg does soften up some after a few sessions). I gave up a little spin on slow loops, but gained a few ticks of speed, good finishing speed for my close to the table style of looping, blocking, and countering. If the six shooter pro is softer with almost the same speed and properties, it might hold promise for my FH. So far, my Gambler in 2.2 has made it through 25 hours on the table with just one 2 mm topsheet tear way on the outside, away from where I hit.

I'm more interested in the durability issue being fixed. I have heard claims of Outlaw bubbling even after 3 days of play!

So it as been a while. I am hoping this will be here soon. I went back to Outlaw on a different blade and it is working great. I am still looking forward to this release. I emailed Tom over at Zeropong and asked about the release. Not sure if he wants that info. out on the forum yet, and of course a "release date" would be his info to share here, but lets say it looks promising that it should be here soon.
I have not had a single issue with my Outlaw. I probably don't use it as much as some of you guys. And I wasn't particularly careful with which glues I used: I used regular VOC glue one or two light layers and then after that have glued it to two different bats with Nittaku finezip. The rubber is working fine for me. I know there is some concern over durability. And if I had experienced that I would be bummed. But so far so good. I must have at least 45+ hours on it. No cracks, no bubbling. Anyway, I will be buying this the first day it is released and on my bat hopefully sometime in December when our club opens up after resurfacing. |

Let us know if you hear back from Tom! I'm holding out on getting outlaw due to the durability issues I've heard about and it sounds a bit too hard for my tastes. Hopefully the new SS is in the 38-39 range :)

Just posted by Tom at http://forums.oneofakindtrading.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=8959
"New stuff within a month: More durable Outlaw Some players have a stroke that will destroy this rubber in a short period of time; this is not uncommon in a high performance rubber. The durability seems to be increased by 20%ish this will not make it last longer it will just make it break less. Understand that to my knowledge no one has done a rubber with this process, so I am overall pleased and think we got it (almost) right on. Six Shooter Pre-Tune Outlaws little bad a$$ brother (can I say a$$?). Softer a bit slower but better ball penetration, with Outlaw your stroke has to be spot on to get good spin (as with all mechanical grip firm rubbers). 6sh Pre-Tune has easy ball penetration, this makes for more forgiveness on your stroke." |

Should have been a while back but I guess getting shipped and ready for release and getting website ready, etc. etc... must take some time. I am kind of shocked that it is taking so long. I have already tried several other rubbers now and questioning if I will buy it immediately upon release. I most likely will though since the price is fair.
