Hi. Can someone give me some instructions of how to use the paraffin oil.

Do i have to apply it only to the rubber? or to the sponge too?
Its safe use it on High Tension rubbers like roundell?

Thanks

Everything you need to know about applying the PO is basically found in this recent thread:

"step by step application in tuning" --

http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=46833&KW=PO+Tuning&PID=584244&title=step-by-step-application-in-tuning#584244

I don't know about tuning the Roundell.  I had a nice layer of Rubber Cement on my old Roundell, but I never felt like I needed to boost it much.  It had decent speed and spin to begin with and I felt it was kind of soft.  Tuning usually makes things softer so I didn't really ever go for that effect with it.  Nice rubber though.

Hi. I think that too but I need to restore de gripness because when I try to loop or something the ball slips or got almost no spin. And my game is spin based. I dont know if olive oil will restore de gripness. I hope it works :D

It will improve the grip.  There's a Youtube video I found on that --

Be careful how much oil you use.  If you use a lot and the rubber soaks it all up, the topsheet will expand (you might not want it to grow like that).  In that case, I use just a little oil, brush it on evenly, and wipe it off with a sponge/paper-towel, etc. right away.  The grip is restored and the top-sheet does not expand.
Good luck! Smile

do not use Paraffin on the topsheet it will wreck it. Any natural based oil is fine like canola, olive, or sunflower oil but not too much, as stated by the reason above

I agree, and I've ruined a sheet with it. It might not ruin every sheet, but is it worth the risk?

If you intend to play tournament, then it's not safe since it's against the rules. If you don't mind breaking the rules, then why don't you simply use speed glue? Beats the heck out of any tuner there is.

I think that a little olive oil on the topsheet (after it's been cleaned) is your best bet to rejuvenate the topsheet grip.

And for some reason, even though the ITTF prohibits modification of the topsheet (chemical/physical or otherwise) I really don't see this as cheating, (as long as you do it while rubbers are attached to blade) you are simply restoring the rubber's original playing qualities.

Here we dont have the machine that is used for detect if has VOC but I think if I Speed Glue the roundell its gonna be ruined so I prefer only to restore the grip.

Do you just apply it once? Video suggest 3 to 5 times. Also how often do you apply it?

Thanks

Neither do we, but I still prefer to plat according to the rules.

Speed glue will certainly speed up the process of ruining your rubber, but so will tuning. I think (cause I haven't used any tuner) that you pay the price for the performance. So, speed glue will make your rubber a lot better, but shorten it's life span by a lot, while tuning will make it slightly better, but also slightly shorten it's lifespan.
