Out of curiousity, are there any blades fromwell known brands that plays like the Dawei Wavestone? Not complaining about the price on the Wavestone, it'smore about availability issues.
So, a head heavy, stiff carbon blade, soft outer layers, no carbon ping sound, off+ speed at around 95 grams, does such a thing exists? |

Donic Waldner Senso Carbon would fit but it's 80 grams.
also Cole still sells wavestone so why do you have availability issues?

The galaxy 2024 is a soft feel carbon about the same speed as a YEO, it actually makes a lower pitch hitting the ball than the YEO which is all wood, then again the YEO is known for being absurdly loud with tuned rubber. It's lighter than 95 grams though and OFF instead of OFF+. Still a good blade if you are into carbons, it's easily better than any of the T series

your right! The Donic Ovtcharov V1 would fit but it has walnut outer plies, but I've heard it has good feel so maybe it's worth a try.

I would suspect that you could find a Stiga that fits that description.
Generally, they do a good job of "hiding the ping", produce blades that are heady heavy (WRB) and have a few models in the OFF+ range. The challenge however would be narrowing it down to the one that is most similar. I'm guessing Stiga CarboKev would be similar. Not sure about stiffness, though. |

Thanks for the suggestions so far.
Galaxy is as hard to get hold of as Wavestone. Hard, as in not available in Sweden. Both Cole and Robert (Affordable) still have Wavestone blades, but with shipping and stuff, they aren't cheap and it would be nice to find a blade that I can get hold of easy. I've tried a couple of Stiga blades, and I must say I haven't liked any of them. It' as if they have a special Stiga feeling that you either love or hate, and me, I hate it. It's the great feeling of a pro-longed ball contact that I'm looking for. The only thing that have come close this far is the Galaxy T8, but, it's to light, not head heavy and no easier to get hold of, so it don't help me much. |

If you are one of the lucky guys who have found the personal perfect blade I would not shy away from cost and effort to get it. It will probably be cheaper than testing many blades and finally sticking to the old one. |

I can ship a blade first class for about half of the listed shipping cost. You just have to email me. Edited by cole_ely - 11/04/2011 at 12:53pm |

Cole, I'll do that as soon as it is time to replace my trusted blade. I currently have 3 Wavestone blades, but unfortunately, one of them is way to light (~80 grams) since I thought I prefered light blades when I bought it. The other 2 are ~95 grams which suits me perfect. How ever, they are both beaten up around the edges and it's soon time to replace them.
I agree that it's most likely going to cost more to find a replacement blade then it costs to get a relatively cheap blade shipped to me, but, there is also the fun in trying out new blades. Even though I must admit, it ain't as fun as it used to be, cause I always end up disappointed now days. I thought Butterfly had a blade that was supposed to be simillar to the Wavestone? Off course, a lot more expensive... |

I have the same problem and I think the first question to ask is: what wood is wavestone made of? The outer ply is very thin and seems limba, but I am not sure. Then there is carbon. But what is the thick center ply? |

I think it's ayous on the outer layers, but I'm not sure. As for the rest, I've got no clue, besides carbon. |
