Everyone at the clubs in my area use the Nittaku 3*, but for the price I'd rather use the DHS 3*. I buy the DHS Athens from Cole.

speaking about durability, I notice some club members talking about how hard the ball is. Truly it seems that the harder ball is more durable, but does it translate to being a better ball to play with?

Well the Nittaku 3* Premiums seem to consistently have the most durability but the price for them is insane, that's why I prefer the DHS, you get what you pay for there.

I still have a pink ball that a guy gave me 3 or 4 years ago.
I was playing the Boeing league in South End Seattle and prior play a guy came out of the group to give a short address to club members. He had a big bag of pink balls. He gave one to everybody. That was his way to tell  his club mates about the birth of his little girl Zoe. The funny thing is I remember the girl's name but not the father's. He did a good job I say Smile.

DHS*** ,DHS*** Athens ,Double Fish*** Are very good in respect to price and the durability they offer.Nittaku*** is nice but it  does not last  and the price is high. You will be surprised to find out how many brands are made buy Nittaky is original manufacturer and marked with different label.i think that there are 3 large  manufacturers of balls. One in Europe one in China and one in Japan.

yeah, I'm a huge fan of Andrzej Grubba, but I'm sure you'd figure that out already. *points to user name* Wink
Send me your address at PM and I will send it to you with one Ball.It means much more to you than me.Wen A. Grubba played in 70-80 in Europe his side spin was called "Super-Spin".If there is a Table Tennis heaven A.Grubba is probably worming-up with A.Stipancic .
Late Antun Stipancic was my favorable player.

Well, this is my lil' collection:

38mm:

38mm 3* balls, all new (4 Nittaku boxes & 4 Tibhar boxes):

I still have 2 boxes 3* Butterfly 40mm, 2 boxes 3* Nittaku Premium 40mm, 4 boxes 3* Enebe/Schildkrt 40mm and one box 3* Stiga 40mm, most of them are remains of big tournaments where I helped being a referee.

Closer look to an old beaten up Nittaku (was my favourite ball when I started learning to play):

40mm:

Currently our club uses Gewo training balls and Stiga Optimum 3* for league matches, but I still like 3* Nittaku premiums. DHS 3* is also a good & hard ball, I like it too.

This is the first time i've heard something positive about Joola balls, how do they play compared to DHS or Nittaku?

I have played with all three.  I found that the DHS and Nittaku are quite similar, while the Joola balls do not bounce as much.

Somebody above mentioned that the harder ball is more durable.  Maybe so in terms of the regular balls.  I know that the dfish feel harder than most and seem more durable.

But dhs actually makes the hardball formula like the stiga optimum or whatver it's called.  It's a proven fact that while they play great they break much faster.
