Since the announcement of the upcoming ban, several companies have put out products to simulate or replace speed glue.
What is the best, safest sponge conditioner available at this time? |

Seen a lot of good pictures of Falco Boster on One of a Kind Trading. The booster is $20 something, but shipping from Australia to the US is another $20. I'm not going to pay for a $40 bottle of booster. I will wait until someone int the US starts selling it.

I take it ASR you are an expert on all the Sponge Conditioners, and have tested them thoroughly on different rubbers. |

Tempo booster gave the best boost the first time but then then the boost was only the same again second time around. CTE boosted less first time but the boost increased more second time to the levels of Tempo. Both were easy to use and rubbers could be treated and ready for play in a couple of days and quicker for later treatments.
EEII was messy and took a few days to get the rubbers playable and sticking down was more awkward. Results were still quite good IMO but not as good as the other two.
Personally although they may be getting close to glue I don't think we are quite there yet. Others disagree of course, but maybe they didn't pour the glue on like I used to.

When used second time I noticed that the click effect from CTE was more pronounced. Perhaps third time it will be so loud people in the club will fall dead all around me... |

I use Stiga aqua energy and its very good. You glue your rubber only one for the lifetime of your rubber. Its a magic! I also think that tune glues will last only for short period. Brands make this glue to save any money they can from old rubbers with speed glue effect. When rubbers with speed glue effect dissapear from the market boosters and tune glues will also dissapear. I also read somewhere than table tennis brands dont make rubbers with speed glue effect anymore. They only making rubbers with new technologies that include gluing rubber with water based glue for only one time. I am very happy about this! That is also my opinion for table tennis with healthy future, and easiest future with gluing rubbers where we can spent more time playing table tennis without regluing our racquets!

I doubt very much whether the manufactures will just decide to stop making these products whilst there is lots of money to be made on them. It will take lots of pressure and rule changes from above to eliminate them. Where did you read this drivel?

Buddy from Belgrade who is promoter of Stiga send me a mail! Of course Stiga has a few rubber fan, then Butterfly rubbers which is surtenly most popular in world. I think that rubbers which works with water based glue would be popular to Stiga which will then make a bigger fan club. This I cant tell for Butterfly. I think they will continue with boosters and tune glues because they can loose too much money!
