If you use the same one, that's fine. Please list the model & balls you use we can can confirm which machines will not jam on certain balls.
After referencing this document from Newgy, https://www.newgy.com/docs/White_Paper_On_Using_40_Plus_Balls_Public.pdf I'm highly skeptical if any plastic seamless balls I get will ever work well with my Newgy 540 which according to that report seems to have the least amount of torque pushing the balls through. Seems as though to me most, if not all, seamless plastic balls are a great struggle for this model. The amount of work you have to do seems kinda silly. Wash the balls & wipe them off (this isn't all that big of a deal for me), run them through the ball feeder a couple of times on high to try to wear them in. etc.. When will we get a robot that handles plastic balls no issues whatsoever? With new blades & rubbers coming out marketing to be "specifically made for the plastic ball", I'm surprised I haven't seen any robots claiming to be the same. Are there? What do you guys think? Been playing exclusively at club with plastic for a long time now but thinking using celluloid at home on the robot isn't doing me any favors.

Newgy have actually modified their robots to improve the performance with the new balls. All the robots since around mid last year have this modification. I'm not sure if the 540 had a modification too... I know the other models did.

The Y&T V-988E can use both balls at the same time
I have been mixing them up including old wobbly Xhsafua 2 star balls with no worries for 9 months

I have the Newgy 540 model from 2013 at home and it has been a severe pain to get to work properly with any model of the plastic ball. I ended up doing several little hacks at home to prevent the balls from jamming so frequently (increasing all the tolerances of the plastic parts that the ball is fed through by filing/sanding), and even still the ball will eventually jam.
The first batch of balls I ordered when the new ball was released was the XSF club balls... terrible experience. Jammed every 3-4 balls and I just gave up (no thanks to the warped balls). Second batch after I sold my old club balls were the Nittaku 2-star Superior balls (similar to the NP40+). Worked better, but after a few weeks the balls still kept jamming. Washing the balls on a regular basis kept the jamming at a minimum in addition to the filing/sanding, but it's still a hassle to maintain. I've been eyeing the A32W from Paddle Palace for a while now to replace the 540...

Thanks for the feedback so far everybody. there was a part of me that was thinking "just upgrade to the Newgy 2050." It's not that expensive and I'll be set." However after looking at that A32W schen mentioned, that duel wheel setup sounds amazing. With my current 540, I cannot practice against no-spin balls. And wouldn't you know it? I feel like I struggle against those. I would like to control the amount of spin my robot sends at me also. I feel that practicing against the Newgy 540 on backspin is unrealistic as nobody chops with that much spin. ;) schen if you ever get this robot, please let us know how it does with the plastic balls. Perhaps I will contact Paddle Palace myself to ask them. Would be a complete waste to get a robot only to find out it struggles with plastic. Thanks everybody... Keep the responses coming.

Since we are on the topic of robots, I didn't purchase one last year as I wanted to wait until the plastic balls had been around for a while. I'm looking at buying an elite level robot such as the Amicus, Oukei Tw-2700-s9 model, or maybe the Power Pong 3000. My friend bought that one and it's supposed to be exactly the same as the Amicus but a $100 or so cheaper. He really loves that one so I may end up buying it, but the Oukei model really has me intrigued. The funny thing about the robots though is if you do a search for TT Robots most of the video demos are 2 or more years old. It amazes me that these manufacturers don't publish more demos of their robot or at least mention if they have made any updates in the last couple of years. I also came across the Double Snakes robot that is $3000! Does anyone know anything about it. The Newstar 2080C is advertised as the most advanced robot in the world. Does anyone on this forum have it? The SmartPong robot also looks very good but it only has 1 wheel and the head constantly rotates to vary the spin.

I've got an older 540 too...I also want to buy a newer one.
I feel like the only real solid option is the Amicus at the moment. |

Yes, I've ran both seamed and seamless 40+ balls through my 2050 without any problems; and that's including very out of round early production XSF seamless training balls. |
