We have a thread about Stradivarius - you might want to check it out. I myself have tried a few combinations but regular Sriver EL/Mark V 30 so far worked best... Hurricanes 3 Pro did really good too but they are a bit too heavy for me.

(sorry, thati s not exactly for this topic, but it is connected to the Xiom Stradivarius + rubbers so....)
Just interested JimT - I see you have two setups for playing:
Galaxy T-4 + Srivers FX 2.1 (CTE)
Xiom Stradivarius + H3 Provincials 2.2 (CTE) But these setups are so different/hardly comparable at all. How can you switch between them?

I usually don't.
First of all, I haven't played XS for the last three weeks because I needed to get more experience with my T-4 setup. Secondly, XS setup works somewhat better when I play against defenders or people with LPs. Basically, my H3 Provs can raise almost any ball especially since XS is slightly heavier than T-4, and H3s are making that combo at least 12 g heavier altogether. The flip side is that during a hit-thru attack XS combo is less powerful because thick H3s slow down the ball. They are really fast and spinny but those qualities are not used when you simply smash the ball or flick from left. In this case, my 4-carbon T-4 works much better; fast blocking is also better with T-4. I will be getting some new rubbers soon and I will try them with XS, especially in February when I will have about 4 weeks break between tournaments. |

yeah I saw it, it was mainly talking about blades though not rubbers. Figured it would be okay to get a thread specifically about rubber choices going. |

Sounds like a plan... however, it's become my belief lately that it is simply not true that some rubbers are best for some specific blade. That seems to be so much more individual and haphazard thing than even regular rubber or blade selection...

I use Palio C on Quattro sponge (35 deg.) on FH and Solcion on BH (both tuned with CTE). Previously I tried Sriver EL and Mark V on Strad but the current (softer) setup seems to wrk much better. Great looper blade. Nevertheless I'd like to try my H3 blue sponge on fh.
