I have been wanting to get a good solid 5-ply blade. I was going to get the Offensive S, but the day I went to get it, MYTT no longer had it in FL handle. Cry

I noticed the Aria is also a thicker 5-ply, but is thicker still than the offensive S. I didn't find any reviews on it in the forum search, so I was wondering if there was anyone nice enough to provide one. I'm afraid that being so thick, it loses some of the advantages of a 5-ply blade.

thanks.

I've been using Aria FL for about a year now. It an amazing blade for this price. It's just a tad slower than tenor but much faster than korbel and it has a more solid feel than both of them. Perhaps it's because of the thick but very comfortable handle.

Feel:It has got a very nice feel much better than tenor.
It's not that thick. I used to play with Korbel which was around 5.8mm and when i shifted to Aria the difference in thickness was barely noticeable.

Looping and counterlooping: Very good for looping close to the table, and also has enough power away from the table when counterlooping. Good dwelling time.

Blocking: Depends a lot on the rubber you are using. For backhand block it works best with T64.
By the way it work really well with Chinese rubbers in the forehand.

Push: Good but also depends on rubber.

Smash: Not the best blade for smashing. Not that you can't smash at all, it just doesn't feel right. Maybe It's the rubber that i've been using.

Chops: Good enough.

I think this blade is a more powerful Korbel but with the same amount of control.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

that helps a lot as I was thinking of saving for soemthing expensive and Tenor was my first choice. Also, Korbel has been on my top 3 also. Perfect lending of information. Thank you!

the problem about the aria is the weight. it feels heavy weight.

about the tenor, be careful also about the weight. if it is a little heavy this blade becomes very head heavy and difficult to play. i didn't like the tenor at all.

imo i would take a korbel and do not complicate life.
