hmm this blade rocks! i like to play mid-dist loop, I used to have a Yasaka Gatien Extra with TSP Real, but that seemed like it didnt have enough juice, just playing with it for abt 3 hrs yesterday, the blae provides excellent feedback and feel, and much easier to loop with!

You have to pay US 84 just for the Ma Lin Carbon according to a Hong Kong TT On-line store price list.  My experience of shopping both in North America and Asia (HK, China, and Japan) is that the price for many popular blades are even high in Asia.  But rubber sheets are cheaper (except European products) over there.

nah table tennis equipment is pretty expensive everywhere is Asia. There is a greater variety of Asian and thus generally cheaper brands in Asia but they would be sold at the same price as anywhere else in the world

The blade is about US 65 here is N. America, and the rubber sheet is about US 27.  So you got a good deal, especially on the rubber sheet.  But you should know that the New Era in fact is made in China, even it claims "Made in Japan".  It is even 10 to 20 Hong Kong dollars cheaper if you buy it from China.  But it has its own value.  I purchased two sheets of New Era as gift for friends when I was in China.

You got a pretty good deal mate, lin88 is right, it retails ~65USD.

As for New Era Rubbers, they can be found pretty cheaply in China, however, beware of cheap imitations. It doesn't require too much of a keen eye to differentiate the genuine from fake.

yes, in china rubber is much cheaper, before I bought my blade in hongkong, I've asked a shop in China, they sell 729-cross for 15 RMB( about 1.8 US$), palio 20rmb(2.4 us$), DHS H3 70 RMB (8.4us$) which is really cheaper than here in indonesia, here they sell H3 for 120,000 Rupiah thats about 13us$. But the blade is very expensive, in china I asked the price of Yasaka Extra, they sell it for 500 rmb(59.8 US$) after I see the blade and know the price, I said "thank You" and left the store. the blade seem like a fake YE.

and one thing that is cheap in hongkong, it is a fruit called "Durian", I don't know what is it called in english, if you don't know, it is a fruit that on the outer shell have many spike. the price is 5 hk$/kg it is about 0.5us$/kg

the shop name in hongkong is "ping pang shi jie", in english mean "table tennis world".  just take MTR Train to Wan Cai, then exit at 'A4 Exit', then turn right and walk straight for 25-35 steps look above you if you see a table tennis banner, there you arrive at the shop.

When I was back in HK in May, HKstar, the first of the links that linn88 provided above, was selling the Ma Lin Carbon for HKD $620. They have 15% discount however, working out to $527....

Better deals could be found in Canada on the Gatien Carbon though, which is essentially the same thing.
