Hey guys,

I am not sure about how you guys feel about the dwell time on these expensive  JM, ALM, Timo Boll ZLF/ZLC/Photino to the recent Innerforce ZLF/ZLC blades.

There was this BIG hype Shocked of "Dwell time" when BTY introduced the Zylon blades, it supposed to help to generate more spins, right? So, many of us like me who had tried JM, TM ZLC, ALM trying to find out how long can the ball really "stay".  I've tried, but failed.  I think Zylon does the exact Opposite of "Dwell"

1st, I feel that the ZLC/ZLF blades are too stiff, and "NO" Dwell time whatsoever!  I mean is that a JOKE BTY is trying to force on usConfused?  Besides the marketing scams, I don't have a better way to describe this whole nonsense.

2nd, why the heck they keep coming out with these different names?  To me, they all practically do the same exact thing... Hard and stiff and NOooooo dwell timeThumbs Down.

I think the ALC blades gotta great dwell time...  am I the only one feeling this way?

Please help, I need your input.

thanks for stopping by

tsa

I think the ALC is a hitting blade and the ZLF/ZLC are more of a looping blade. This goes for the TB and the IF versions. IMHO. The TB and IF ALC has less dwell time for me.

ZLC have more dwell and equal or more power than any ALC.

If you want more dwell and slower than ALC, go with reg ZLF or straight Arylate (AL).

Practically anything with Carbon in it is going to have a somewhat hard feeling.

if youre talkin like TB ALC then i dont think the dwell time is that great. Koto outter plies are pretty hard so it knocks out pretty fast. The limba plies near the center might help a bit with dwell i suppose.

ZLC blades are much more flexible than you think; depending on which blades you're accustomed too. Ive always played with hard composite blades, so the zlc has tons of dwell to me. ZLC has tons more control over the power/spin/angles i can attack with so i dont think its a scam.

Table tennis is a very sensitive sport so even the smallest additions make a big difference. To whoevers buying a new blade out there; do your research and know 100% that its what you want or youre just wasting your money.

But some arylate carbon blades have softish feel, like Viscaria and KLH Special.

I personally feel like Viscaria is a better blade for looping than a Photino.  That is the only Z-anything blade I have tried much.

yeah, the viscaria is pretty flexible imo. And has a much thinner head than the photino. Thinner heads are better for opening balls and close table attacks. Photino has much more punch than the typical all wood blades so id say its more of a loop driving/smash blade.

Totally agreed with LM.

ZLC and ALC are great blades for blocking and hitting.  ZLF and AL have softer feel and good for looping.  They feel soft but not too slower.

In fact, two of my fav setup are:

1.  ALC with T05 FX
2.  ZLF or AL with T05
