Hayata Hina has withdrawn, ankle injury.
ITTF mentioned Tournament, so that's WD and XD out too, regrettably.

Only if you still believe in rankings achieved 4 years ago. The fact that neither was seeded speaks for itself.

According to the ITT, he pulled out due to back injury.
Life is too short for defensive play.

I think it has more to do with no LGL. That may prove to be a catastrophic error.

More on the draw controversy:
http://k.sina.com.cn/article_1490187717_58d275c502000agb6.html?from=sports&subch=osport
Quote On the morning of July 18th, the 2018 ITTF Korea Open men's singles group match was over. According to the new rules of the ITTF, the group stage entered the knockout round without re-lotting, and automatically entered the corresponding position according to the corresponding group and row publicity. . But somehow, the ITTF suddenly decided to conduct a round of draws. The results of the first draw showed that Zhang Jike’s opponent would be Guo Pingpeng’s Liang Jingkun. The result also caused questions from the people concerned, so the draw ceremony was re-run. In the second draw, Zhang Jike, Yan An and Liang Jingkun were all foreign players in the qualifiers of the National Table Tennis Team. However, after coordination and communication, the organizing committee decided the latest match results: Liang Jingkun played against Daga period, and Zhang Jike's opponent was replaced by teammate Yan An.

At 3:24 pm Beijing time, the ITTF also released the results through official Weibo.

Just ten minutes after the start of the game, according to news from Chinese sports reporters, Zhang Jike retired from the Korean Open due to a recurrence of a waist injury.

Women singles group stage:

In Group 6:  Kim Sol Song (PRK) beat Chen Szu-Yu (TPE), 4-1.
That's impressive as Chen Szu-Yu routinely ranked world 20-30.
===========
In the Main Draw, Kim Sol Song's first match will be against Suh Hyowon (KOR).

Question: I just flipped on live streaming of table 1 and found doubles. Two men versus two women.  I've seen mixed doubles before, but I've never seen men versus women (I think the women won, too!).  Is this something new? Or am I just that far out of touch?

If Mima Ito wins this tournament that would be inhuman achievment. Probably chinese player in every round. The whole bracket is covered in red color.
