Junior boys singles final (starts at 1:05:05)
(Note:  Xu Yingbin was knocked out earlier, in the semi-finals.)

Kuang Li seems to be a new young promising penhold player.

Watched a few points of his and have to say his way of playing is definitely interesting. Never saw a penhold player choose to play backhands from the FH side before or look for a backhand third ball attack (I doubt he is 'supposed' to play that way) but it might show a new style of penholder where the backhand side is not a real weakness anymore.

Thanks for your excellent observation.

As a penhold player, he uses his BH to attack serves - ended up with 9 out of 10 attacks landed on the table.  That's a very high percentage.

Looks like a promising young player to me.
(Li Kuang:  DOB, 1-6-2003.  Or about 15 1/2 years old.)

As a C-pen player I can say that my RPB BH is waaay stronger than my FH shots. LOL I think it shows that C-pen players are being coached equally as Shakehand players to attack from any side and any angle fully utilising all the strokes. No stroke is a weakness as long as you train it hard enough.
