Hi all,

I'm not sure if any of you have heard of a new, growing sport called 2Pong. www.2pong.com. It's a 2 handed variation of table tennis, but the paddles are worn on your hands like gloves. The game uses a standard table tennis table and balls and follows most of the same rules as table tennis. However, the utilization of your non-dominant hand can provide quite the unique challenge. I encourage you to check it out and try it out for yourself. If you love table tennis, you'll love 2Pong!

Cheers,
Ben

1pong players need sometimes to discreetly free their pants off their butt crack Rafael Nadal style. How do we do that playing 2pong? maybe pinching pants with the 2 paddles but it probably requires more deltoids flexibility that average. Any suggestions?

Looks like basement style and too slow for me. Besides, I love my banana and strawberry flicks and 2pong clearly can't do that with those flipper paddles. Unhappy

You're right, 2Pong was invented in a basement! You'd be surprised at the amount of power you can generate with the right torque.

It is tailor made for seemiller grip players as they can hit there normal backhand, where shakehands players are almost forced to hit there "off hand" on balls to the backhand side.

You're right! Seemiller grip players will find a natural transition to 2Pong. However, the more practice you get with your "off-hand" the less "off" it becomes. That's the beauty of 2Pong. Practice full-body coordination. Great training for goalies, boxers and other athletes.

Hahaha LOL Well, the velcro strap can come off for a quick scratch if needed. Strap em back up and you're ready to keep playing.... itch free.

Looks like the middle will be a weakness for many players.  Quick shots there should find an advantage, except for Seemiller grip players. Smile

Why not just use 2 regular table tennis rackets, one in each hand
Each racket can have any of one 4 rubber surfaces:-  in, anti , out or long.
Ideally, one racket  will have out & in & the other racket will have anti & long
Or one racket in & long and the other racket will have out & anti etc etc
Players can switch rackets at will & also twiddle like crazy.

In fact I am not even sure the ITTF rules say anywhere that you can use only one racket.
I can two or three or even four rackets in my racket hand (or a belt full of rackets like a mass murderer) , then serve legally & then pass one of the many rackets to the free hand & continue ?
Because there is also no ITTF rule that says you can only use one hand either. You can swap your free & racket hands at will.

Now I kinda empathize with how Marty Reisman may have felt when he faced Satoh's all sponge & no top sheet racket for the first time in Bombay in 1952  Clap

Sounds like a cool idea! I'd like to experiment with different paddle surfaces for more variation. Table Tennis and 2Pong are 2 different sports. The same way Tennis and Pickleball are different.

A shot to the middle of the body forces your opponent to move their feet left or right to adjust. Lots of shifting and moving!
