Has the Chinese or anyother (country) worked on pattern recognition software to analyze a specific players playing patterns (especially serves) ?
For example, at primitive human level, even I can tell most players (even Dima, with his convoluted left to right serve) is going to use a left to right serve, as soon as a player takes a backhand serve stance (the return will shoot to the right of server if the receiver used the racket vertical to ground & parallel to the net.........the ball will also shoot down if the serve had backspin also or shoot up if had topspin). So in this case the only decision needed is whether the ball has back spin or top spin & pattern recognition software may help with other clues to read the serve as early as possible ? This applies to all other physical movements or tendencies a specific player. Maybe such software exists for say American football (may be New England Patriots) , where you can tell what an opposing quarterback will do and receiver's routes even before the ball is snapped Just thinking out loud (& weird ?)
