Want Yidi may have to lose now so they flip sides of the draw.

Ps.  Was wrong, this is a knockout, one and done.

35 minutes between matches is what they usually schedule for bo5.  I wonder if it was originally bo5, and they decided to switch to bo7 but forgot to adjust the schedule.

Just realized this listening to Bobrow, tough for CXT.  I guess the best of seven was their best attempt to prevent this but still a roll of the dice.

Yeah.  The speed of this match will definitely help with climate change given how fast it is going.

Lin is playing his "I have never lost to this guy before and this is a best-of-seven game".  He had better switch to his "this guy needs to be massively contained and this is a knockout-tournament" game.

What's going with LGY ... 4-11, 3-11?  Even if he ends up winning the match, this is not CNT level table tennis.

The game intervals felt longer than the match duration.

Robert: "And on that point, I don't want my players to come and play here, because they're not yet good enough, they're going to be beaten badly, and then when I go and tell my government for more money to train my players, they're going to say no, you're not yet good enough, so that's a very big problem, if you cannot win down in your zones, your continents, why do you want to go up?"

The psychology of choking is interesting.   This is why Lin is unfortunately despite his immense talents to get relied upon for the biggest events.

The problem is obvious...  if he cannot play unconsciously, he plays consciously, and when he does that, the self talk interferes with his play with unfortunate results.

Xi Jinping: Attending the APEC Thailand 2022 in Bangkok right now.
CXT: 3-4 Batra. This is for China-India relations. (India NOT a member of APEC)
LGY: If I will lose to Harimoto in the end and take the blame, why not Alamiyan now so people will say this is for China-Iran relations? (Iran NOT a member of APEC)

I remember folks in China suspected WLQ lost to Alamiyan at Asian Cup 2012 as a political gesture.

Tourney is Bo7 alright, but I actually had the WCQ-Kirill game and LYJ-WCT game in my mind when I drafted this  comment, But I was hesitant to make any predictions. Who knew LGY was gonna do his thing lol, I was expecting that in the latter half of the tourney, WCT got an upset and WCQ won his game. Huge pressure on WCQ now moving on forward.

BTW barring his spirited display in the 2-4 loss to FZD recently in Macau, LYJ has mostly been underwhelming on the big stage since his brilliant efforts at the Olympics in mid 2021, He's played in Europe for over half a year now, Is this still issues with his strength or drawn-out poor form, or is this another display of the volatility of strength of men in the top 25 of the rankings??

He is going through a period of change, I suspect it will be a while before his true level is manifest.

I feel like Hayata is definitely not 100%. She needed to rely on third and fifth shot attack to finish the point fast. She couldn’t seem to sustain longer rally?
Hope her tricep is ok to continue!

Lim is a very very dangerous player.
When risky shots land on the table, confidence is there.
Wang Chuqin didn't give up and tried his best.

Unbelievable - Lin Yun Ju, Lin Gaoyuan, Wang Chuqin, Chen Xingtong all lost?! What is happening lol...

Also Chen Szu Yu is showing exactly how not to play against pips - she's just playing slow short serves, slow pushes and control topspins and getting absolutely destroyed by the variation in Batra's game, and also attacking the BH pips where Batra is already in position instead of the wide FH corner....

Edit: she finally realised it in the sixth game that she was winning almost every single point where she FH looped to Batra's FH.... will be interesting to see if Batra adjusts and starts countering those hard. Still it's much better to mix the placements up as the attacker.

Edit: Batra is just pinning her down to the deep BH as a response and suddenly Chen Szu Yu proved that she's unable or too chicken to go down the line strongly.....

Exactly, she was way too conservative and chicken in the match which is a big no no against pips. Pips players just love these medium speed balls...

Harimoto fans from HK or Macau?
