Just to start a beginner's blades thread, i will place a list of blades essential for beginners to start with and also will save them a
lot of money instead of trying to be an EJ.. I will update this thread
based on your suggestions.. When I say beginner's blades i mean
beginner's blades NOT SCHLAGER CARBON ET AL!!!

hahahhaha, ok sersiouly, i know ive been a dud, but i have to say waldner impulse, that was my FIRST EVER BLADE when playing ping pong, coach gave it to me. its sooo flexible and all- blade, unbelievably good for a beginner starting out.

Definitely. I'd add the Andrejz Grubba All+ and the Timo Boll Spark (this is a great controllable blade with a soft feel). |

I agree, Btfy Andrzej Grubba is a very good controlling allround blade for beginners.
You can also get about the same allround qualities but some offensive ability as well with 729 V-6 ($27 from Eacheng). I recommend it very much to anybody from allround to offensive players. The only ones who would not get much from playing it would be heavy defenders and all-out close-to-the-table relentless attackers without short game. |

Why are you surprised that i'd pick the Joyner H as a beginners blade hafawaz? It's slow, soft and easy to control. Good call on the Avalox P500 too speed_king, that's a quality blade.

Jonyer H is not slow at all. Hinoki is great for looping. For a beginner I suggest some normal blades first.

The Butterfly Primorac, the Butterfly Timo Boll, not the spirit, thats too fast, and the Donic Persson Senso, should be good beginner blades. I have played with all three of the above.

I disagree that the Joyner H is fast, but that's what i think. I found it easy to control and has a very good soft feel, which would be good for a beginner. I tried it with Mark V 2.1/2.2 and Sriver 2.1 (BH).

Get him a Stiga OC. $35 a pop and comes with good control and decent speed. A good looping blade. |
