What do you guys think?
I tried myself every combo. All with T64 on BH. With 5-ply (Hurricane Hao) I felt it lacks speed if I don´t swing very fast. With arylate-carbon blade (ZJK) it was too stiff with poor control. Speed was ok. Right now I´m using a 7-ply blade (Persson Powerplay) but sometimes it hasn´t enough speed. Should I use a faster 7-ply like P700? Or a softer composite blade like ALC?

Zjk yan an ma long zhandoug chen qui... are using arylate carbon, so dont search anymore it must be something special with h3. If u r a pen holder yeo is used by 2 very famous ma lin and xu xin so again ur search is over. Get one and train u will surely succeed.

Try stiga optimum sync, optimum plus or DHS H-TP, these are 5 plies hard feeling blade. These blades are good with hurricane neo rubbers.

Rosewood NCT V or VII are good options depending if you prefer 5 or 7 plies and if you are looking for speed or control.

Any opinion on hurricane 3 neo on Timo Boll ZLC?
I just started playing with it (switching from grippy-less T05). Still trying to get used to it. |

in fact just depend your power...
in china lot of coach say... if use only forehand same xu xin and ma lin you can use wood if use backhand and forehand more often use carbon.. after 5 or 7 ply is just feeling....

Dude 5, 7, ALC all work just fine. H3 isn't as picky as people make it seem. I like to think it's very nice on just 5-ply. Sure there must be something nice with ALC and H3, but keep in mind it's a popular trend for players who can make other world class players look like chumps. So it does not at all mean that it would be magic for us!

If you gonna use T64 on BH, try find a softer Viscaria (maybe a chinese clone).
Otherwize Clipper (esp. asian version 6.2 - 6.3mm thick) goes well, but T64 is less controllable with it, too jumpy and catapulty. Clipper is better with Nittaku HPB, Renanos Hold or Bright Hard, maybe Sriver G3.

I play with it on a 7 ply dhs pg7. It seems fine to me. But I've been playing with 7ply all wood blade my entire tt life of twenty or so years.

Balsa blades are far and I mean far superior than conventional 5 or 7 plies for the dhs rubbers if you attack at the table. FAR superior. Not so good once you get away from the table. I would choose a balsa if you play near the table only or a hard 5 ply from distance. I can't see the purpose in a normal soft 7 ply unless you want something in the middle of the two more ideal setups

I like 7 ply for their stiffness and liveliness. Composites are stiff but have very little feedback because of less vibration.
5 ply feel soft on contact when swinging fast with them. Almost like the ball disappeared into the racket. With hard rubbers there's a vagueness right after contact. Soft rubbers on a 5 ply during high speed attacks, for me, is like playing with butter.
