    Posted: 07/16/2006 at 12:04am

Years ago, I used to play with TSP 730 speed sponge on my backhand.  The sticky topsheet had alot of spin and the hard sponge had alot of control.  It was very easy to block on the backhand with the hard sponge rubber.

Does TSP still make 730?  What is the best chinese rubber made today?

There are tons of chinese rubbers w hard sponge. specially good for close table blocking and hitting. sticky topsheet ... I would say, H3 or 729 SP.

but now they have the new SKYLINE, they say its good. not yet tried myself.

Shenfeng is very fast, officially sponsor of GUANGDONG team. The best rubber so far that i have tried is the REACTOR TORNADO sponsored to HK. FASTER than H3 and SKYLINE.

thanks for the offer, I think I might be able to get some if I needed, I just want to try this H3 out for a little, I like it but might go back to Bryce, I can sell you the  Prov H3 for $14 if you want, I think I might still have 2 sheet at 40 degree, and 1 38 and 1 39 , all in black 2.2mm. I will ask if I need to return them if I don't use it.

No I got it from a friend that live in Shanghai China, yes it does have the have the marking in the back, the one with the 38 degree is something he got from one of the Shanghai prov team member, the other he got them from their coach, I will try to post them for you when I get a chance, I'm not worry, I'm 100% sure they are real if thats what you are asking.

Regarding Coach Wang in Dallas - Two of his students did very well at the Open this past week:

One student, (Tom) won Under 9, won Under 11 and took 2nd in Under 13

A second student (Kevin) won Under 1750.

Hi superloop,

You can find TSP 730 in Robbins Table Tennis or iruiru. However it seems Robbins only carries TSP 730 Regular. You could email them and ask about 730 Speed. They are pretty good/fast in answering email inquiries.

Hurricane 2 and Hurricane 3 are the best chinese rubbers I have used, 729 Faster speed glued is good too if you like hard rubbers.

I love higher. It makes a nice clicky sound when I hit with it unglued and imparts a lot of spin on both pushes and topspin. I might go both sides higher when my cream mrs wears out.

if you go both sides higher, it might get really heavy.
