I feel Dignics 09c is probably among the best hybrid rubbers out there. What other hybrid rubbers would you consider best for forehand and backhand?

I am thinking to try one in the future. What puzzles me is how Joola golden tango can compete with the new hybrid rubbers since it was introduced to the market six or seven years ago.

K3 seems to get reviews. How about Donic bluegrip c2 on forehand and bluegrip s2 on backhand?

I have a Rakza Z Extra Hard, not sure if it is a Hybrid.
But I say it has nothing of extra hard, not even hard. It gives a semi-hard touch with no tacky feature. But after some sessions it became very grippy, and it seems to last forever.

Both Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard are hybrids. I have tried Rakza Z and quite liked it at the beginning. But it functions differently after a while.

To me, it feels harder than D09C and Rakza Z.

Interesting. My RZEH was easily tacky enough to pick a ball up and retained its tackiness even when worn in. I agree that it feels softer than you would expect given its hard sponge though.

Depends on how you play, but if you wouldn't ask the same question about Dignics 09c, why would you ask it about Golden Tango? Golden Tango isn't the fastest, but it is very reliable and durable and very spinny.

Rakza Z lacks that muted pop of catapult I get from 09C. The only rubber hat comes close to 09C for me is boosted H3 (not a hybrid, obviously).
Been really wanting to try PK50. Can anyone compare it to 09C?

The closest comparison is Xiom Omega 7 China ying. It is hard to looks for the feel of the d09c since its equivalent hardness is like 57 or 58 degrees ESN equivalent.

Has anyone tried the gewo codexx series? The super select 55 sounds like a good forehand rubber.

Depends how you play really. Bluegrip is something I haven't used loads so I can't really comment on it. I know a couple of the players who play Donic so I'll ask them for you. |

How does Golden Tango play on the backhand? Will it be too hard? I use D09c on the backhand of my JM zlc and it feels good there.

I use it on both sides. If you can play with D09c, there is no reason you can't play with Golden Tango, all in all Golden Tango is an easier rubber to play with to me, it just doesn't have the same top end speed. It is stickier than D09c out the box for sure, and this is what might cause problems. But if you don't use the protector sheets aggressively, as the tack wears off, it becomes a decently fast and spinny rubber - I would probably just keep it clean and not use the protector sheets for the backhand side. It just isn't as dynamically bouncy as 09c but I also think its slow spin is easier to activate in my opinion. It's a $35-$40 rubber, you can give it a try and see whether it fits or not. The people I know who use it on the forehand don't miss 09c and don't find the extra expense worth it. I know one other guy who uses it on the backhand and he plays like how I do - we like to spin with power, and the rubber allows us to get good quality and control our output better than faster stuff without backing off the table. You aren't going to easily out hit players who back up and hit with speed, but you will be able to stay consistent for sure and add all out power when you need it.

How about Golden Tango PS on the backhand? It is a bit softer and has a 2mm version.

My personal experience wasn't good, but such questions are definitely individual. The PS is not as linear to me and it has more of a catapulty and boosted effect. I have always had a bias for stability in rubber performance over high speed and spin out of the box followed by degradation in a a month or two. But maybe I just prefer hard sponge all things being equal. After all, I have played D09c both sides before. |
