On the other hand, Eloi is a semi-god at 46

Gardos should pack on a lot of muscle, he lacks power and explosiveness

Amazing performance from Eloi! He's still super awkward and a lot of fun to watch. I thought Boll would choke at the end there.
This was a great signature until I realised it was overrated.

Does Kristian Karlsson play in this league right now? I really want to know where he's competing.

Karlsson plays at Pontoise who were eliminated by Dusseldorf in the quarterfinals. Karlsson lost both his matches to Kamal Achanta.

Too much to handle for the Champion and Runner-up of the 1st European Games.

Was the Champion even trying?
Viscaria FL - 91g

Maybe it's the camera angle but in the match against Samsonov, a lot of Oshima's serves seem to have the contact point just over the white line.

(Looking at the toss again, perhaps it's just the camera angle that makes it look like it's over the line.)

1st game.  Dug too deep a hole to make it out in time.  Had trouble with Oshima's double backspin serve.

2nd game.  Couldn't hold on to the small lead and again had trouble receiving at crucial moments.  By this moment it was apparent he lost out at the table to Oshima's speed, and even in counterlooping rallies.  Ovtcharov, really?

3rd game.  The 1st two games combined.  Owned.

1st game.  The taichi master used his years to counter the I-lost-count-of-how-many-ripped-right-through-him winners.  In the end, Samsonov failed to keep his receives tight.

2nd game.  More or less the same thing.  Forced to take a time-out like Ovtcharov did.  His years didn't fail him.

3rd game.  The effect of Samsonov's years continued well into this game.

4th game.  Oshima's activated his afterburner and turned the tide.  Samosonov's years started to show signs of wear and tear but still enough to force a time-out from Oshima.  Yet, the afterburner reached its optimal operating temperature right after that.

5th game.  Oshima upped the output of his afterburner and literally blasted the years into dust.

This match reminds me of the ones between ZJK and Samsonov.

It's been like half a year now since last year's World Cup.  And I thought the wisdom teeth would somehow benefit him(well, they got pulled, so meh).

Past year he has been looking more tense and even angry at times. No smiles, like he is not even enjoying any match he has played.

Every time I watch Timo play he looks like he is enjoying it, always cracks up a smile and has a spark in his eyes. He looks very serious whenever he plays CNT players, but nonetheless still looks like he enjoys the game.

I feel as Dima's problems are far beyond a simple fix. Maybe problems in marriage, or something else that could be psychological?.... Who knows, but I hope he can get past it. Boll is getting old and Europe needs a strong player to compete against CNT these next few years.

In his match with Oshima Yuya:

He is: (1) half a step slower than his opponent, (2) his serves no longer produce the pop-ups and bottom-of-the-nets that they used to (even against CNT opponents), (3) short table game seems error-prone, and most of all, (4) relatively passive, or appears simply reactive, because he never got time to play his game.

In spite of his experience at the Chinese superleague, I wonder if he has improved at all...

I think it mostly comes down to the serve and return of serve for Dima.

Serve sure isn't getting the popups and such it once did. Return flicks lack depth and actually kind of predictable.

I guess one possibility is to get yet another serve, or a variation of it. Flicks can be worked on of course.

If anything, he is a marked man and there seems to be a book on how exactly to play him.
