Just because I saw a very similar POC blade above by tiehwen, I thought I should post photos of my POC 1-ply (made by ryno a year ago):

A lovely blade which plays amazingly well, but at 111gr a bit too heavy for my taste, especially since I like it with heavy chinese rubbers...

And this is my new darker tanpan hinoki 1-ply, which at 86gr is pretty good for my game and is the one I am using right now.

I guess the grains are not as tight as many hinoki fans would like, but the feeling is great, the weight is right and it plays sooo well... :)

Waz wrong w/its handle? I personally find the ST round handle of Darker a bit slippery & annoying & hard to get a nice comfy grip, however the FL is nice and thick but still not as perfect as, say, FL of Photino or even ELCON of OSP.....

Brother tiehwen the handle is slippery and the neck is wider and i have smaller hand so i can't have a good grip of the blade. But i love using it with  my short pips.

Hi Bagung,

Both blades are excellent for me.. WRC feels a bit soft and really has a good control. Mine is 8.8mm (measured by digital caliper), feel a bit slow to my liking but now it's my main blade. It would be really good if it has a touch more speed. Well JimT said his WRC-10mm plays almost same as Darker speed 90.

SC is a nice blade as well but its weight stops me to make it my main blade. Actually I like the characteristic of SC (7.8mm) which is more solid and the speed is just what I'm looking for. The throw angle lower than WRC and feel stiffer. SC's weight is 94g and my WRC is 86g with the same size of face. The problem is I like to play with chinese rubber on my forehand, so the weight is a problem..

Nittaku and Darker single plies are nicer to look at (generally) compared to Xiom and Butterfly. Do you notice that on some of Xiom and Butterfly single plies there are some dark brown inclusion in between the grain ? As an example you can see page two, the blade picture posted by Jpenlover.

Single ply hinoki is very nice to play with, but what I do not like is the thickness. Above 7 mm is too thick for me.
