    Posted: 11/20/2007 at 9:46pm
Guys, Liping from China (new Chinese national player, quite unknown before) is currently sponsored by Donic and Donic introduces Liping Kitex.  It is a Kiso-Hinoki wood combined with Texalium, thus named Kitex.  I am not familiar with Texalium, can anybody inform me what is the playing characteristic of Texalium?  Is it hard and stiff like carbon, or absorbing like arylate/kevlar?
Thanks in advance.Smile

Li Ping is # 34 and was unrated previously.  He uses a Wosik Senso Carbon.  You can see his blade in his match against Chen Qi during the Russian Open when they're taking a break.

Meaning it's hard and bouncy?  I think I remember tried Gambler Black Diamond Light (???) once and it bounced ball really high (on bare blade).  I think it has texalium also, hmmm, not sure.

I guess it's more for hitter rather than looper, then?

Thanks

Anyone used the Donic Liping Kitex yet?  I just got one waiting to seal/glue... got the shellac spray to seal the blade (is the liquid better?), planning to apply a light coat once, any thoughts appreciated.
All things considered, it is more green to fight on the table, than land, water and air.

Man... there are hundreds of new blades, materials, thousands of rubbers, compounded by types of handles, different thickness, color, tensions etc. Each one of a hundred of companies is constantly putting out new stuff (sometimes just gimmicks, sometimes something really new) all surrounded by tons of company PR and web reviews...

EJing is hard work ("life is hard for a pimp") - maybe we should just play table tennis instead... wasn't life so much easier 60 years ago with hardbats?

There is no going back but sometimes I wish we could make it simpler... although I have mixed feelings since I don't want to play with a hardbat like I did when I was 7 yrs old...

So anyone tried this blade? I saw one in the donic dealer and it looked quite nice. Well balanced, sanded wings etc. BTW I wonder whether it's made in china or sweden.

Its made in China so it has not the same quality as the Donic blades made in Sweden. I suggest Persson Powerfibre or Persson PowerCarbon instead or Li Pings own choice Wosik Senso Carbon, these are all made in Sweden and same or better speed but still having greater ball feeling.

Kennie,
do you know this out of personal experience? I mean, did you compare Donic blades made in China and Sweden? what is the main difference and where does it come from?
Just wondering, as other manufacturers are also producing part of their new blades in China.

+1 Jim T, ya just a good hardbat and a couple of beers and really good times. I cherish my good old Hock blade.....times were much simplier back in the day, less choices..game to 21...no $80 dollar rubbers...better sportmanship!

LOL. Amazing how that sounds so right, and yet so wrong at the same time.

doraeman the Li Ping is a good blade. The Texallium Fibre is similar to carbon and not arylate/aramid type of feel. Very stable, excellent attacking blade, hard in feel (Kiso outer), and reasonably good control. I use Acuda S2 on mine as it does favor medium type rubbers with a bit of dwell.

Great handle and balance.

Texalium is special glassfibre material with addition of aluminium fibres . It is different from carbon. It makes blade stiffer, enlarge sweetspot , but the blade has more woody feel and control than carbon blades
