What means "special order" ?

Do you have several Hinoki Blades or is it the first one?

I'm really surprised so many people worldwide playing J-Pens Ermm
In Germany almost everybody plays shakehand blades.

I thought you are in the club already since we PM-ed several times about 1-ply Hinoki.  Maybe I have confused you with someone else.

Your Nittaku blade is touch notch.

Welcome to the club.  Just put Single Ply Hinoki Club in your signature to make it official Smile

No prob but the senkoh is on the way from Japan to Germany LOL

I will do a comparison asap.

My BBCs are a matching pair with 80g each and 10mm thickness. The wood is Western Red Cedar.
On the picture you can see the nice and tight grain. The size is similar to classic Stiga Blades.
They are a little bit faster than the Juic Kiso Hinoki.

Now I played them all.

Juic and Miyabi are very similar but shape and handle are dfferent.
Both are Off+
Senkoh max is very fast like the blades from BBC if you hit the sweet spot and that's different to the BBC's . . . the whole BBC blade is completely a sweet spot. Not comparable to anything I played before . . . even a 12 and 16 mm Balsa blade.
Senkoh and BBC's are Off++
My American Hinoki is also a beauty like the blades from Charlie but only 70 g !!!!!
Compared to the other blades its an Off- but with a touch I only know from my old Armstrong level 79 blade. Kevin can build heavier and faster blades but I like the touch so much that I'm going to order a matching blade. Never played a cork handle before and it's great.

So, if you are looking for a single ply blade I can only recommend BBC or American Hinoki.
Perfect blades, craftmanship and finish better than Juic and Nittaku, same price (maybe less) and specialy build with your specification.

Hope you'll understand my crappy english LOL

OMG ! It means I can get less than 70 grams for 9 mm thickness ! Great !
Did you post the picture ? I want to see the blade face. Thanks.

Hi, 1ply, i see you like 1plies ;)
For shakehand, there are only two real(i mean serious) hinoki blades: darker speed 90, kokutaku bishu no1 specialist.

other blades are funny compared to these two. Senkohs are often different from one piece to another, some are extra soft, others harder and faster. I know that every tree is different, but senkoh is nothing real, it is nice blade, but not kiso or bishu. Miyabi is kiso (if I can remember correctly) and my piece was like a child version of darker speed 90, but good. Simply said - not so fast blade, but the density of wood was obvious.
Juic shake - I dont like it, maybe I had bad luck with it, but I did not feel the "hinoki feel" as I expected. Very dense hinoki wood, flat trajectory, quite fast but I missed the key element of hinoki in it.
Bishu specialist - I was amazed when I tried it. It is really serious blade, endless power (speed), the harder you hit, the better you feel. From my point of view, this bishu blade is exactly what hinoki blade should be. It is so perfect and also very demanding for me as a player who has to play with it. It forces me to be faster, it does not forgive me anything. I have to be perfect and then bishu acts perfectly.
I got darker speed 90 ST yesterday. I hope it will be the good one, I played with one great and one not so great darker.
well, that was crappy english for sure. Confused

Are 1-ply blades senstive to water? actually, what I mean is: are they sensitive to the water contained in water-based glues?

No prob Big smile

By the way, the blade is very nice balanced. It's not head heavy because the burled cork is heavier than "normal" cork" . . . and not to forget, it looks much better LOL
So I really think it's possible to make a blade from this batch of CR that's about 60g!!! if the handle is made from lighter cork, you hollow the handle and use wood with 9mm thickness.
I'll definitely buy the twin of my blade.

They are more sensitive to water and temperature but Charlie i.e. sealed his blades with a special coat that penetrates the wood. So the blade is protected but seams like it is untreated Thumbs Up
