By the way, the blade is very nice balanced. It's not head heavy because the burled cork is heavier than "normal" cork" . . . and not to forget, it looks much better LOL
So I really think it's possible to make a blade from this batch of CR that's about 60g!!! if the handle is made from lighter cork, you hollow the handle and use wood with 9mm thickness.
I'll definitely buy the twin of my blade.

1ply, how do you pay your blade, by paypal ?

If you use polyurethane, you will get a very good result. Even wood varnish will protect the wood and make it waterproof.

thanks a lot for the advice! I'll try to see if I can find Good Stuff (or something similar) in Europe.

That's the only site I found it by google it.

So, because I'm from Germany, if you got it in Europe, please tell me.

Thx to Charlie and Cheers to the Netherlands

Everything I know, is what you can see on this site . . .
but, it's used for cutting boards. Couldn't immagine, that
there is any toxic stuff in it.

Well, with having a look on my blades, there is nothing.
Charlie told me, that he was searching for a long time for the optimum seal.
I think he's got it.

It's sealed but smells extremly like Cypress . . . it's so spicy.
Forgett Juic or Miyabi.

The only one that could stand that blade is the one from Kevin.

Cheers

No, I can't do that unless it is hinoki. Hinoki has a particular look and one cannot be mistaken. The only reaction that can be expected would be : How come this wood smells like hinoki ? Big smile

The Darker Hy-Blade is a very beautiful blade.  I had a Speed90 10mm version.  Plyas the same as the regular Speed 90 but looks a little better .  I take it you found a really light Hy-Blade?

Wow.  I envy you.  Speed 90 Hy Blade must be a beauty.  Don't forget to take some close-up shots and share them with the community!

I am using Nittaku Rorin 10mm right now.  It's not that powerful compared to my Dynam, relatively.  However it can loop much better and block with more control.

I'm planning to get a pair of tensor rubbers for my 1-ply hinoki. Has anyone here tried T05, Xiom Vega Asia, Vega Pro and Vega Europe on your 1-ply? I'm thinking maybe 2.1mm T05 on FH and 2.0mm Vega Europe on BH.

I've got VE Max on my FH and I don't plan on switching any time soon.  The spin and control are both very good, and because of the thick 1 ply blade it has enough power to finish the point.

I like soft rubbers like VE, but I was wondering if a soft one in max will reduce much of the hinoki feel

I think it's the quality of the hinoki used. Hy-blade is better.

Here is another one

Quite inexpensive but made very professionally. I wonder if anyone has tested it yet...

Those look intriguing.  But why is there an extra piece of wood/cork (I hope it's cork) on the handleof the cpen blades?
