Definitely.  I'd add the Andrejz Grubba All+ and the Timo Boll Spark (this is a great controllable blade with a soft feel).

I agree, Btfy Andrzej Grubba is a very good controlling allround blade for beginners.

You can also get about the same allround qualities but some offensive ability as well with 729 V-6 ($27 from Eacheng). I recommend it very much to anybody from allround to offensive players. The only ones who would not get much from playing it would be heavy defenders and all-out close-to-the-table relentless attackers without short game.

i'm surprised that you'd pick the Joyner H as a beginner's blade.

Stiga Optimum Sync

Donic Waldner/Applegreen Allplay

Buttefly Korbel
Butterfly Primorac
Butterfly Grubba

Dawei Quattro Allround (Limba)

IMO, Any allround blade, or even premade bat blade with two good allround rubbers is ok for a beginner.

Why are you surprised that i'd pick the Joyner H as a beginners blade hafawaz? It's slow, soft and easy to control.  Good call on the Avalox P500 too speed_king, that's a quality blade.

Jonyer H is not slow at all. Hinoki is great for looping. For a beginner I suggest some normal blades first.

The Butterfly Primorac, the Butterfly Timo Boll, not the spirit, thats too fast, and the Donic Persson Senso, should be good beginner blades. I have played with all three of the above.

Basically, any blade that is rated All - would be a good choice.

I disagree that the Joyner H is fast, but that's what i think.  I found it easy to control and has a very good soft feel, which would be good for a beginner.  I tried it with Mark V 2.1/2.2 and Sriver 2.1 (BH).

I think the clipper is a little to fast for a beginner's blade.

Here are a few blades that I think are beginner friendly:

Avalox: BT550
Butterfly: Grubba, Timo Boll, Primorac, Korbel
Donic: Waldner Dicon, Waldner Senso,  Waldner Allplay, Appelgren Allplay
Stiga: Allround Classic, Allround Evolution, Energy, Offensive Classic, Tube Allround
Yasaka: Allround 40, Gatien 2040, Extra, Extra 3D

I am think about what blade to buy for my friend, a beginner. Maybe you guys can help me here.

I am trying to decide among:
Stiga Optimum
Stiga Optimum Plus
Stiga Offensive Classic
Yasaka Extra 3D

How is Stiga Optimum Plus different from Stiga Optimum? It seems Stiga Optimum Plus uses better wood than Stiga Optimum.

Get him a Stiga OC.  $35 a pop and comes with good control and decent speed.  A good looping blade.

Thanks. I think Stiga OC is a better deal. For blades in the Optimum series, some money goes into the appearance :)  $35 USD, where to buy? can you give a link so that I can take a look?
