Since I am not there all I know is what I see on itTV and so far it has been amazing. Just amazing. Sloppy warm ups, ho hum body language, missed serves, unforced errors + infinity. I thought it would be better even at this stage. I can usually pick the winner in the first 5 balls.

Here is hoping things improve.

It's the qualifiers, dude. Tongue

We're talking, people in the rank 1500 region. If you're a decent player, you're probably as good as they are.

number 2 player in aus just scraped through his group. he's about 2300ish, beating a 2500ish player (ratings central ratings, NOT USATT - add about 1-200 points for their USATT)

which is pretty exciting for us aussies!

if they still have it on ittv, check out shukratulla teshaev from Kyrgyzstan.  he might be the worst intl. player i have seen, ever.

At least the spain player let him rally a little in the end. Kinda felt bad for him, since he doesn't seem to know how to play.

It's not that bad, I don't think anyone, with one exception mentioned below, is near that low a level. There are people 2000-2500 or so with a 2700 every once in a while mixed in to dominate the field.

But yeah, I did feel like I could play near that level, especially after today for me, beat a couple Korean players I've never beaten before.

I've seen Hyun Deok Seo, he is a very talented player and young. He could be a top-20 player.

Curious thing - rule 2.6.3 (as we all know Smile) states that in the doubles the ball must hit the right half of the court on one side and then the right side of the court on the receiving side. Now watch the doubles match (on ittv) of Kuzmin+Voronova vs Tsuboi + Yamada at time marker 12.18...

Was it legal? Nobody even blinked...

There's also a female player from Kyrgyztan named Tatyina Schatslivaya on ittv.  She's not as bad but clearly not world class.  On the one hand, it's nice to see that Kyrgyztan had some extra govt. money to send players to the WTTC.  On the other hand, it would have been better to spend the money on a good coach and have WTTC 2011 or London 2012 on your sights.

Sweet, the real matches are starting, Zhang Yining just played, killed the girl from Croatia, feel sorry for her, she was good but had no chance.

lol, Maze, always making a stink, already got the refs on him for having his tag too low on his back before they even started.

Yeah, I watched that. Also, Kenta Matsudaira just owned Aleksandar Karakasevic. I don't know what happened to him, he just kept on making mistakes over and over again, and by the 4th game, he had given up.

Misaki is a girl, and she's 16.
Edit: she actually turned 17 two weeks ago.
