For sure. Players can't be 100% focused on table tennis when they have a girlfriend. Its just like what the old guy told Rocky when he was training: "Women weaken legs Rock!"

Agreed.

To be fair to the boys, hugging and kissing the girlfriends may be o.k. as long as there is no sexual activity involved before the games. It is extremely demanding and vigorous while competing with other world class top players. Speed, spin and fast footwork require a lot of energy at the professional level.

When asked whether he has a girlfriend, Ma Long is very shy and his face flushes and he probably doesn't know what a girlfriend is all about. He just wants to focus on TT at this point. Everybody including his team mates laugh at him because he is still naive about girls. Although his coach can't really stop him from dating a girl, the coach will prefer Ma Long to just do ping pong. Dating is a very dangerous game to the young Chinese professional players. No beautiful girls please.

Why 3-min clips? Is it because that web site only allows you to rip 3 minutes at a time?

What video ripper are you using?

Thanks

So what are the final results for men and women? Can anyone post a link or the results themselves?

That is the way I captured it from the site.
It will take me too long to combine those files to one plus it will increase in size.
I use Flash Video Dowloader addon for firefox to download it.

It must be the site itself that breaks the downloads that way.

Virtual Dub is a free and reliable way to edit (cut, merge) videos. I will try and see if I can do that with some of your vids.

A way to watch those matches is to put all those pieces in a playlist of your player.
I use VLC to watch those matches. I did merge one or two off those matches but it increase in size because I did not want to lose the quality.

Thanks for posting these matches.

Can anyone provide a brief translation of the interview at the end of the WLQ Zhang Jike match. I'm interested to hear what LGL had to say.

"WLQ is using his Hurricane King vs Xu Xin!!!"

Nice observation

Notice how he plays as though it was made for him ? Too bad he reached this guy at this point. Still a great world class player This is one of the better matches of the tournament.

Women will select another team member (or two) using Qatar and Kuwait Open, and then in March 14-17 there will be a final event to determine the last team member.

As for men, the training council will name two more team members, and a substitute will be selected later (no data on that yet).

Kinda strange that Chinese TT federation decided to do this differently for men and women. Very dissimilar approaches...

Anyone else notice that Ma Long was providing commentary during the Chen Qi vs. Hao Shuai match? I would be curious to read a summary of what he was saying about them.
