apparently, the 2nd round starts this wednesday and will be televised on CCTV5.

i just looked at the CCTV5 schedule at tvunetworks.com and it is as follows:

wednesday: men's trials - 3 am ET ; women's trials 9:30 pm ET
thursday: men's trials - 3 am ET; women's trials 9:30 pm ET
friday: men's trials - 3 am ET

and that's all.

oh, xu xin and guo yue have already qualified and will not play this time around.  li xiaoxia also will not play--she has appendicitus.

anyhow, all you vid posters out there, get ready!!

Ma Long VS Hao Shuai

Ma Lin   VS Chen Qi

Wang LQ VS Zhang Jike

Wang Hao VS Lei Zhenhua

---------------------------------

I hope the Champion is Lei Zhenhua , and next time is Zhang Chao, I'd like to see how LGL deal with Ma Ma Wang Wang.

:)

well, ma lin is supposedly in the doghouse due to his marital problems and wang hao obviously has something else on his mind other than TT (i can't say exactly what it is cuz that would be x-rated), so LGL's decision might be easier than you think.

that said, i'll be shocked if ma ma wang wang are not there this time around, the above notwithstanding...

oh, another thing, since you're chinese--have you heard anything about LGL?  he appears to be coaching less and less in the pro tour.  is he about to be promoted (or retired)?  is this his last wttc?

How many qualify from this round. Is it the top finisher again? If so, that will be Ma Long.

I heard little about LGL, but It is impossible that LGL would retire before London Olympic, I'm sure.
On the contrary , Moscow wttc is WangLQ and MaLin's last chance to fight for China very likely.

"The winner will be Ma Long definitely ", everybody said before last Moscow express match.

"They want to kill me by exalting" , Ma Long answered.

He is feeling pressure by being at top now, is he?

So, how many will qualify from this round? How many more selection rounds left?

maybe they will do it again this time.

Here is a clip from CCTV 5 which begins with interview with Liu Guoliang. Can anyone translate the main points for us?

Then they show Ma Long - Hao Shuai match. I will try and rip it, then upload if successful.

I don't think he's part of the national team any more... Neither is Qiu Yike. I think both of them play and train mostly in Europe now.

I went to cctv link posted before mine and found a couple of other (older) videos. Then I figured out which characters/hieroglyphs were names of the players (like Ma Long and Ma Lin) and executed cctv search for the names. That's it...

He talked about some activities of the national team: going to a nursing home, playing with local university students. Then he analyzed the upcoming Shuai-Long and Lin-Qi games. He said that he wanted to see how well Long plays under pressure after recent defeats and that Shuai wanted to play Wang Hao and Ma Long in the first round because their game suits him well. He also believed Ma Lin would learn from the previous loss to Qi and use his head to come up with a better game plan.

He's obviously wrong on this one as Lin looked completely out of sync in his favorate short game. Is he still occupied with the divorce or he's just hitting a wall?

No problem.

So does anyone know what format do these competitions have? Were those matches - semifinals? Will there be a final battle between Ma Long and Chen Qi, and if yes, when?

Finally, can someone try and rip those videos?

Those were quartfinals. The format is single elimination. The other 2 quarters are WLQ-ZJK and Wang Hao-Lei Zhenghua.

I ripped Hao Shuai- Ma Long in nine different parts of 15 MB, +/- 5 Minutes.
I'll try to upload all different parts.
