WLQ's loss would affect his chance of making the team going Moscow.

Well, with the exception of the Maze vs Wang Liqin match, the higher ranked players won... no clue why/how Maze won today (as close as it was) over Wang Liqin when he got crushed just like a week ago against Ma Long. Guess Wang Liqin didn't bring his gameface to this match.

Indeed, a loss to a non-chinese doesn't help him at all to get into the team...

Well, maybe this was a reason why they would take wang with them.
Now, they can tell wang what he did wrong, and give more instructions.

This is a great warm up for wang.

Interesting... I hear "Thock thock thock thock" same noise from both rackets. I guess Maze's Chinese coach taught him the Chinese style...of tuning.

Maze's "Chinese coach" hasn't been living in China for at least a couple of years (could be much longer). He had been living in Sweden before becoming Maze's coach.

Guys, do you think Joo is more vulnerable against fast attack from both wings ? I think Schlager applied the tactics quite well at the beginning part, Joo didn't have much chance. So generally, choppers are easier to be beaten by players who can loop well both wings? Do you guys think so? Because the choppers will have less time to react and it seems to me, backhand loop is a bit harder to chop!?

Schlager has perhaps the best backhand loop against backspin of anyone since he plays and practices with Chen Weixing so much. He routinely will just sit there and backhand loop all of his chops.

Schlager = tactical genius.

It can never be a bad thing to have all the options against a defensive player, or anyone for that matter, harder to get into a groove for a defensive player though when you can't rely on him doing the same thing, forehand push or loop, over and over.

Look at ma long, a forehand killer stroke is normally enough.
That's probably why boll always has difficulties with Joo.
Ovtcharov has more chance to beat Joo than Boll I think, cause
you need power and a bit perfection against them.
