Hey omid1371,
If you wanted to save time, you simply could have posted the links of the websites where you get all theses links: - http://kkreanga.fr/ - http://garykidall.new.fr/ |

+1 . Otherwise we will become subordinates of Chinese forums , were we are going to say thank you , thank you , thank you , thank you moderator , throughout the live , to get a short video . No offens to the great Chinese forums..... Is it a sermon or a pragmatic point of view ? Please , register to : PS: since Jimt pointed out these and other tt-video wsites in his fixed thread , I have to suppose he means well when he post duplicated links of garykidall found by MU searching. http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=33737 And omid1371 , who know perfectly those links , claps !!!!!!

yes, I agree that omid should have started all these threads with messages saying that the links were copied from those French web sites.
However, when I search for the MU links using megadownload.net, I cannot determine who compiled the databases before so quite often I am not able to give the proper credit to the creators and compilers of the original clips. That's just how it is. When possible, the credit should be given, of course. |

Simple. You can always start or end your post by indicating how you sourced the download links and you were unable to give the credit properly because {you fill in the blank here}. |

Generally it works, GenomicsKnight , but in this case it isn't enough . The posts should be delated . That's all . And I don't feel sad to be a maverick . |

I agree. Especially the rightful owner of those links, Paul, already made claims here. So those posts with uncredited download links should be deleted. |

JimT , - Some years ago , by pm , garykidall asked me , and implicitly MTTN , for permission to use my Eindohven 1999 and 2007 WTTC links in his site . Links formally mine , essentially by other people . I hold the post . On a different side : All normal people . |

I think we should have a lively discussion on the issue in a separate thread - let me summarize my position here, though: When anyone posts an MU link to a file on a public forum, it is automatically presumed that this person doesn't claim to have a copyright or any sort of right to that file other than being its original uploader. Not to mention - and this is a really big issue (especially for some people) - that 99% of the uploaded files are copies or excerpts from some proprietary DVDs or TV streams and therefore, formally speaking, they are pirated. Even YouTube compilations or medleys can be said to infringe on the copyrights of Reflex, CCTV, ETTU and many other video-producing organizations. Therefore I posit here that a) assigning credit to the original uploader should be done when possible b) knowing the original uploader is usually almost impossible - who said that the links from kkreanga or garykidall or martinspin are all "originals"? some of them are, of course. All we can do is thank them (or whoever else we want to thank) c) I want to reiterate that the fact of posting the links on public forums automatically (that's just how the web works) allows anyone to re-post them. Of course, it is an acknowledged rule of Internet etiquette that you try to assign credit - some people don;t even do that. d) tracking credit and blame for posting the links to MU files is just silly in my opinion. It would be nice if people posted the credits etc, but if they don't, what can we do - I bet there are websites A which copied links from B which copied them from C, which copied... from X... and of course credit is usually lost. e) what we should do is to come up with some kind of good and polite disclaimer which I will gladly put into the MTTN Video Links post, and then we should just go on with our uploading/sharing activities. After all, we don't really do it so that someone will say "JimT or Nicko or GaryKidAll or kkreanga are superdudes and we need to erect a statue to them". It's nice to get thanked but if we don't get that, that's not going to stop us, is it? Thanks, everyone! |
