It is the new Butterfly blade especially made for Apolonia.

Freitas also has now his own BTY blade.

During his today's match against Filus Apolonia was playing with ZJK blade, but I couldn't see which one exactly it was.
Life is too short for defensive play.

HI, people.
I watched his match against Gionis on  LIEBHERR 2015 ITTF European Table Tennis Championships,25 Sep 2015 - 04 Oct 2015, Ekaterinburg, RUS

And noticed that Dima flips racket

Question,
Dima changed the rubber of backhand ?

I noticed that too. I noticed that he always serves with the red side. So if he BH served, he would keep the red side on the BH for the point. If he FH served, the red would stay on the FH.

It was crazy

I've noticed too that Apolonia's using a new custom blade, and that Gerell is using carbonado 190 with Tenergy 05 on one side and probably calibra LT on the other side

Yeap, checked once more on the highlights video, Gerell uses 05 on FH, Calibra on BH.

I think that Dimas red rubber is softer or has more booster in it (meaning it´s softer). That is why he likes to serve with it and also he feels more confortable to loop with it (on fh) against choppers. Bit weird for a pro player but if it works for him then why not.

What is the point of playing safe shots when you can miss with style

Is this from actual match? I´m just a bit skeptical becouse I haven´t seen Kristian playing with red rubber on his fh nor without an edge tape. I´m might be wrong tough.

In that match 7:30, Dima's RED rubber is a T05 clearly,

hmm... his red rubber is softer than black one?

or something different??

If you pick lighter 05 it is softer than heavier one. And yes you really can feel the difference.

NO NO...WOW...

Dima's FH black one is not a T05

"14-018" OR "14-003" OR "14-009"

14-018 : T80

14-003 : T64

14-009 : T05fx

I can't see exactly, but it's not "14-001" (T05).

HMM... I think it's a T80. 14-018.

I'll upload a capture image soon.

whatever Dima is using, it must be an underpowered 1.7 sponge, requiring him to make that obnoxious grunt every time he hits the ball

I was told - perhaps as a joke - that Gerell now uses short pips on BH... can that be true?

I just watched the replays between sets 2 and 3 of his match against Freitas. Appears to be a nice even sheen on his bh; doubtful it's pips

That must have been a mixup - perhaps from women's semi? You can easily see that this is Butterfly blade with the pips on it while Gerell plays with a Stiga (on your next pic). Could it have been from Samara - Mikhailova semifinal or from Yu Fu vs Li Jie?

I don't know if it's a mixup, per say. I've actually seen a lot of matches lately where they just keep a graphic on hand to show behind the score during breaks.

Oh. that makes sense - so it's a shot from women's doubles semi. Petrissa Solja is sponsored by JOOLA, right?

What rubbers is Gerell using? He has a red and an orange sponge.
