I don't think he said Timo is the great white hope of TT, but he did make Timo's injuries sound like excuses. I mean, you think WLQ and Ma Lin are ironmen who don't get injured? In fact, I know WLQ broke his right arm before. Image how powerful he would have been w/o a broken arm  |

I must say Zhu Yuling surprised me in a few ways when I saw the final. First she was not an overtly fast and agressive power attacker from both sides. I was imagining a Gu Yuting look alike. Second, she seemed to have some obvious weaknesses yet there she was in the final. You cannot really get there just by being lucky even though it helps to be flying under the radar. I had to go back to look at how she beat Fukuhara and Park. She lost to another Chinese girl in the junior event, which suggests within the team, they know her game better.
Third, she was very calm and collected. I don't think she 'cho'ed even once, which is very unusual. She seemed to have a personality suited for choppers, which kinda explained why she could beat an experienced one in Park.
Overall, I'd like to see more of her. The next couple of years should be critical in her development.
